Acne

I have done a search on this board for problems with Acne and there are two things that seem to be effective, Accutane (sp?) and some product called Clear & Smooth. Just wondering if anyone had any comments about using these (dosages that work, problems, amount of time required from them to work, etc.)

Acne sucks and its a dead giveaway when you take your shirt off and people see that stuff. I am too old to say that it's puberty!

Any thoughts about this topic are most welcomed! I don't have the big stuff....just a lot of little bumps. Does the sun really help? I heard that it makes it worse?? or does it just make it look a little better for a few day?

thanks,

pipple butt.

If it gets too bad, have your doctor get you some accutane. All the horror stories you hear about it are very very rare.

Chance are you will notice dryness and thats about all.

Other than that, shower 2-3 times per day, change your bedsheets every 2 days, and yes get some neutrogena facial sope to help you out.

Clear and Smooth

I just got that Clear and Smooth stuff in the mail and put some on.....feels great!

It says something on theri site about the sun / tanning making Acne worse...just wondered if that was true. It always looks better the day after tanning but then the pimples seem to get a little worse? Is it true?

b-5

also, you may want to go out and buy some vitamin b-5 (pantothenic acid). Take about 3 grams a day of that stuff (throughout the day), and it should help dry up your skin and clear up that nasty acne. Also, going to the tanning beds twice a week is quite helpful too. Hope this helps bro.

B-5 works ok for some, but does nothing for others.

Retin-A is an excellent treatment for what you describe.

Accutane is very harsh and should only be used for bad chronic acne.

I'm with The Almighty on this one

All the stuff you hear about accutane is exagerated

It will give you some dry skin and lips but simply use Blistex Medicated Lip Ointment for your lips and a non-comodegenic, water based cream for your skin and you'll be fine, trust me.

Good Luck buddy

i suffer with poor quality skin anyway so the test just adds to the sh*t!!! i found the sun to be really good at HIDING it, but it comes back pretty quick. washing often with a good soap helps and so does a cream i get from my home country called PANOXYL GEL 10. i dont know if you can get it here in the us but it works really well. i tried the normal crap like oxy and biactol and they dont work, apart from the biactol face wash
at the end of the day, do you want to be big and spotty or small and girlie?!!!

i find keeping on a strict diet, high protien, low carb, with omega 3 (flax seed oil), helps. also take your multi-vits, with b-complex. works for me :D
