acne?

CB, I used to start getting acne at week #4... like clock work. I could always count on being 4 weeks in... no matter what I was taking... and then I would start breaking out on my arms and back.

Then, one cycle my hot water heater busted... so I couldn't take baths at home. For several weeks I only took short showers at the gym... and I noticed I wasn't getting acne that cycle. I talked to a doctor friend about it and he said the steroids made my skin an androgen rich environment... and then soaking in a bath tub was creating a moist environement for the bacteria to breed.

After that I stopped taking baths at all while on cycles... and only taking short showers. I haven't had any acne problems at all since then.

tanning?

hey luv2lift
have you tried tanning, it has been mentioned on this board sporadically but I swear by it, I can tell the difference after just one session of tanning, I also found that if you shave your back (even if you don't have lots of hair, just use shaving cream and run the razor over your whole back) it helps with the drying out of the skin and opens your pores more than just scrubbing. That is just from my personal experience but never hurts to try.

Thats the funniest Sh*t Ive ever heard, you dont have hair on your back but you decided to shave it huh? lol. Some hairy fools on here huh?

it is called induction

it was a logical process because I noticed that every other bodypart that I shaved, chest, stomach, arms , face-as soon as I did the next day the acne would almost be completely gone or faded to where you could barely see it. I am glad it made you laugh though.

I'm with nautica, nothing during the cycle but start the clomids and my shoulders look like a pizza.

Have heard that tanning helps also.

The pre and post Accutane use will eliminate all of the acne.

I am with the first guy. I get the shit about 4-5 weeks in, and it will stay until a month or so after I am done with clomid. Do a cycle of accutane for 5-6 months, and you're all set.

B-5 sucks fucking donkey dick btw. All it does is irritates your face. Sucks...........I have yet to see a person in real life that had that shit actually work. I use(d) it, my g/f uses it, a bunch of my buddies tried it, and it all came back the same........makes your face raw.

dunno fina seems to clear up my acne "at first" I think has to do with the supression on your own system.

If memory serves right though it comes back later in the cycle and post cycle.

Some ways to help yourself

Non-Prescription/OTC Remedies
- Topical Vitamin E & Aloe Vera Gel, roughly $6, from GNC, its clear and it works well

- Aloe Vera Gel - even by itself, its a great cleaner

- Vitamin B-5 in gram amounts, never tried it but have heard some good results

- Rubbing alcohol - Kills bacteria, but can dry skin fast

- Mary Kay "Magic Masque" - Works great

Prescription Remedies
- Tetracycline/similar antibiotics - Good for most people, in more severe cases, can be combined with Retin-A for better results

- Retin-A Cream/Gel - Go for the Gel if you decide to get this, its made with alcohol and the alcohol evaporates very very fast off of the skin, leaving the medicene behind... the cream leaves a greasy residue, but both are equally effective - Havent tried the new Retin-A "Micro" Gel which is supposedly even better

- Accutane - Works 99.9% of the time, however, it should be used as a last resort as it really hammers the liver and messes with your oil glands in order for it to work.

If anyone else has any remedies, feel free to share
