Abs: The 8 pack

not at all, tehre is your upper abs located right under your sternum, the 4 middle muscles, then the two under that right above your bladder. a lot of people dont have the bottom 2 developed very well cuz only specific excersizes target them, such as leg lifts

note to self: Start doing leg lifts... ;) any other good exercises for them? any weighted exercises?

For me, I have noticed much more stress on the lower abdomen portion by doing weighted sit-ups with my legs straight out flat as opposed to knees bent. Full ROM, and do not "bounce" off the floor.

i dont know how mcuh this hits the lower but i do full decline situps at like 30 degrees or so with a 45 plate on my chest my abs are sore from top to bottom for days. seems to hit all of them great. and i am at 10% bf and top 4 show the next row is coming in as sooon as i lose a little more bf i am sure ht bottom are there. but be sure to do full situp better than crunches imo. i did leg lifts to never as sore as the full decline.:fro:

Are full situps on an incline bench with weights ok for your back? I recently bought an incline bench that came with some small weights (like 8lb) and when I do a full situp, right about at a 90degree angle, my lower back makes a nice little crack. It doens't hurt, but man, it's disgusting to feel.

My lower back used to hurt when I did situps on the decline bench, but no cracking...I don't do them anymore because of this.

Everyone has an 8 pack. If you are under 10% BF and only see 4, or 6, it's called genetics. The other muscles are not meant to be seen as vividly.

yea some people have very very fine lines between there abs, but this actually makes for a stronger stomach, people with 4packs still have 8 muscles there, they are just so close together u cant really tell

Agreed. Doing leg lifts aren't going to bring out your 8 pac if you only have a 6 pac.
