?? about the diet in the Shadow project

Tomer

New member
I have been looking at the suggested diet for the Shadow project and I have a couple of questions.

1.Why is it recommended to take an r-la with the protein shake in the morning... I thought r-la is taken with carbs... not a protein shake. Is this because of the addition of the creatine and glutamine?

2. It seems like the carbs are added in later on in the day. I was under the (perhaps incorrect) assumption that some carbs should be added after the am cardio?

3. Is there a specific kind of glutamine or creatine one should buy? i seem to recall skittles bought the wrong kind of glutamine at first.

4. it is recommended that cardio be done on an empty stomach with a fat burner in the am. i have read many times on here that people need to eat a banana or something with their thermorexin. i am thinking i may just stick with the cardio breeze. would it be better to do that?

I have taken protein shakes before, but never glutamine or creatine, is there anything i need to be concerned about/ side effects? it seems like a substantial amount of shakes/ powder every day.

thank you for your advice!

Is this because of the addition of the creatine and glutamine? I can't remember why the Glucorell with the shake except if the shake had carbs in it & it's post workout....then the Glucorell will help shuttle the carbs to the muscles more effectively....

2. It seems like the carbs are added in later on in the day. I was under the (perhaps incorrect) assumption that some carbs should be added after the am cardio?

From what I recall in the plan, there aren't carbs after about 5pm - correct me if I'm wrong....

3. Is there a specific kind of glutamine or creatine one should buy? i seem to recall skittles bought the wrong kind of glutamine at first.

I tried creatine - but found it didn't really do anything for me....so I quit taking it....I just bought Optimum Nutrition's creatine......now Glutamine I like cuz I don't feel as sore PWO when I take it - I actually have 2 kinds - 1 is a powder to mix in shakes & the other is a cap....

4. it is recommended that cardio be done on an empty stomach with a fat burner in the am. i have read many times on here that people need to eat a banana or something with their thermorexin. i am thinking i may just stick with the cardio breeze. would it be better to do that?

I've done am cardio with only Cardio Breeze & didn't have a problem with feeling sick or anything.....others have taken Trex & felt sick if they took it on an empty stomach so they took it with food.....I always took my Trex with a meal, so if you want to just pop CB before cardio then that's fine....

I have taken protein shakes before, but never glutamine or creatine, is there anything i need to be concerned about/ side effects? it seems like a substantial amount of shakes/ powder every day.

Well you primarily want to have a shake PWO to get protein to your muscles faster with a carb but no fat.....you can have regular food the rest of the day if you'd like cuz you mainly want to hit the 40/30/30 macros for the day, so it gives you a lot of leeway the rest of the day....the posted diet is more of a guideline.....

As I said, I never had any probs with glutamine, but creatine never really did anything for me....

BECAUSE THERE ARE CARBS IN THE SHAKE(MILK)

DEPENDS ON WHEN YOU ARE TRAINING...CARBS AFTER CARDIO(30-45 MINUTES) AND AFTER WEIGHTS ARE SUGGESTED

3. Is there a specific kind of glutamine or creatine one should buy? i seem to recall skittles bought the wrong kind of glutamine at first.

CEE FROM AF STORE WORKS VERY WELL FOR ME.....ALSO THE GLUTAMINE THAT OMEGA REPS IS GOOD AS WELL

DEPENDS ON THE INDIVIDUALS...i DONT NEED ANY FOOD WITH THE T-REX..TRY IT AND SEE....I FIND THAT TREX IS A TOUCH MORE POTENT THAN THE CB

I have taken protein shakes before, but never glutamine or creatine, is there anything i need to be concerned about/ side effects? it seems like a substantial amount of shakes/ powder every day.

SHAKE PWO IS A MUST.....

ONE IN THE MORNING MAKES IT A LOT EASIER TO GET THE CORRECT MACROS THE REST OF THE DAY.

FEEL FREE TO GET WHOLE FOOD IN THE MORNING...JUST GET THE SAME AMOUNT OF PROTEIN/CARBS/FAT

What is the reasoning to wait 30-45 mins to have carbs after cardio? Is it to deplete the glyocogen in the body even more? I ask because I'm always famished after my cardio sessions and it's tough to wait it out.

WHY??

I call it cardio afterburn......metabolism is elevated for quite a while after the cardio(HIIT especially)....eating/drinking blunts that.

Why not eat a fatty/protein source 60 miutea before training/cardio?

Could it be Egg whites with yolk...no oats??? Correct me if I am doing it wrong...

certainly that fits

Some folks might need 2 yolks but the concept is the same.

IMO - you want *just* enough cals/fat to get through the workout and then follwoing 30-40 minutes

thank you for all your advice!

I recall seeing in the shadow project that one teaspoon of creatine was added? would this be the same as one cap of purecee? with each shake?

dumb question: what is PWO?

also, I heard that there is a 15 minute window to eat carbs after a cardio workout, rather than wait until 30 min? shadow, you are saying to wait at least 30 min to eat anything after the end of a cardio workout?

right now, i usually have my protien shake within about 10 minutes of finishing a weights workout.. do you think it would be better to wait a little while longer?

Again, I really appreciate your input! :)

WITH THE CEE IT WOULD ACTUALLY BE 2 CAPS

POST WORKOUT

YES....THAT IS WHAT I AM SAYING.....THE WINDOW FOR THE AFTERBURN CAN BE MUCH WIDER THAN THAT ESPECIALLY WITH HIIT CARDIO

right now, i usually have my protien shake within about 10 minutes of finishing a weights workout.. do you think it would be better to wait a little while longer?

IF YOU ARE DOING WEIGHTS ALONE - DO THE SHAKE WITHIN 10-15....THE DELAYED RESPONSE OF 30 MINUTES IS REALLY ONLY FOR CARDIO

Again, I really appreciate your input! :)
NO PROBLEM

This thread has really cleared some things up for me... things that I didn't even know I didn't understand! :FRlol: Thanks for all the info!

*takes notes*

on a ... sort of... side note...

How is PureCee compared to other kinds of Creatine?

is there a benefit towards taking caps or powder?

I have never taken creatine before. when i go to my local supp shop, I dont' want to say, " i want creatine, i dunno what kind"

Regular creatine is a monohydrate

the CEE is actually an ester...so you dont get AS much water retention.

As for Ethyl Ester Creatine

Thanks!
so do you think yay or nay on adding the pureCee.

for the girls who have added purecee ro creatine what are the benefits outweighing the water retention?

would it be fine to have a protien shake with just the l-glutamine?

what would be the extra benefits of adding purecee or creatine to those shakes?

same as the benefits for regular creatine./..increases ATP production...better pumps..better recovery

Purecee will not make you bloat (or it shouldn't) that's the good thing with the CEE, sometimes the other powdered forms cause that water rention in females. My vote is YES add the purecee.

^^ for what shadow said about the atp production ;)

thanks shadow! thanks Bunny!

since i've never taken it i guess i'll start out with the PureCee and see how that goes.

i'm still fairly new to the supp scene having only taken sesapure, glucorel, levorex and Cardio breeze. i'm not quite sure what to expect,

thanks again!

I love anafit products but you can always wait to add them in after you have the diet down & training in place, or until you stall or need a boost.
