whats the best way to break off the top without letting any spill out?

If you can't break it easily with your fingers, file it with a metal file at the neck. It should break easily. You can also buy amp openers, but I don't know where. Someone will post that shortly, I'm sure.

 

[Suspension]

Make sure all the oil is in the bottom part of the amp.
File around the neck of the amp
Hold bottom part of amp with thumb/forefinger/middle f.
Snap off top part of amp with thumb/forfinger of other hand.

Easy as dat.

I use a pen cap. Fits perfectly over the top part of the amp. Give that a try.

I put the amp under warm water before opening to thin out the oil(so it will draw up easy and to make sure it all goes to the bottom) then I score the neck of the amp with a file, take a towel(in case the amp shatters) hold the amp and snap off the top. I have not broke one yet(knock on wood LOL) Good Luck!

If the amp has those rings around the neck or perforated then use your hands .If the amp has nothing just solid glass the use a (aluminum speed square ) <<<<<note>>>> should be a Craftsmen ....the speed square has a small hole in it where you put the curved part in the hole and u just crack the bad boy open
