Abcess w/o pain?

Last week I shot Fina/prop into my right glute and although there is no pain (it did hurt a bit the day after), there is a pretty big lump there!
What is this? The 'undigested' oil... or an abcess?
BTW - I'm on 500mg dicloxicillin 3x daily for acne (following 2 weeks on 100mg ED of doxycycline)

I often get the same. I would'nt worry too much about it, although I'd leave that injection site alone for a week or two.

Thanks

Thanks guys. That's what was freaking me out so much... the lack of pain in my glute! I guess the pain from my first thigh injection (which is only just subsiding 3.5 days after!) more than compensated for the leg pain though! No infection, but OUCH!!! I thought the body got used to prop. pain w/ time... I guess it gains tolerance only at frequently used inj. sites, huh?

On another note, I injected my left glute today and yet again upon aspiration there was blood. It's happened 6 times in a row now. Do you think it's just the same thing as the right glute except the lump has burst leaving excess blood? I injected anyway and all is well.

The sign of an abscess is when the area around the lump is red and warm to the touch. You probably injected the oil too fast, which is what caused the lump. You say you have aspirated 6 times in a row and have drawn blood from your glute? That is highly unusual! Make sure that you are injecting in the upper outer quadrant of the glute and you should only rarely draw blood.
