Ab Scissor......Anyone have it?

Does anyone have the Ab Scissor from Body By Jake. Tell me what you think of it. If any of you have one of the other Ab machines, let me know about them. I am looking to buy something that I can use at home to work the abs. Thanks.

I guess by answering I have to admit I've sat through the infomercial *a coupla'* times ;)

It sure seems like a lot to spend on a machine that only does one thing ($200+?). And the thing is huuuge.

Reminds me of my brother's home pec dec machine.

Beyond that, can't say that I'm all that impressed with the actual movement just from seeing it on TV (haven't tried it myself, though). I think one would be better served doing the basics like bridges/planks and swiss ball stuff.

I sure wish core work were as easy as 'hopping on and going for a ride', as Jake likes to say (OK I've seen the infomercial more than a few times).

On a related note, I tried the Ab Lounge for shits and giggles the last time we were at a sporting goods store (I like to try the Bowflex there, too). It's basically like a broken ole' chaise lounge that you lie down in. Man does that ever NOT work (could be I was doing it wrong) - and I felt absolutely ridiculous, even more than when I tried Tony Little's Gazelle ;)

The one thing that gets me about the ab scissor commercial is; the people who are shown using it are fitness models, but the people who give their testimonials are still out of shape in my opinion. Another funny thing that Jake says is "get the body that you deserve", well duh, if you work hard (diet and exercise) you look good, if you sit on the couch and eat junk all day, you deserve to be fat. The reason why I know that all these ab machines are junk is that they all come with diet plans and we all know that if you want abs it's 90% diet, 10% training and 100% dedication (giving it 200% is the only way) I guess I'm answering my own question.

why not buy a ball and ab wheel? cheaper more simple and you can do a variety of things.
So what you're saying is, the wheel works just as well or better than the rest but costs much less.

Yeah, unfortunately most people want to give 10% effort and get 100% results...I saw Jake on HSN whoring this thing for close to $300 ('you can do it...hop on and go for a ride') and I think they sold 20,000 in a weekend - that's his target demographic for this product.

(uhm no I don't sit around watching TV all day :p )

All you have to do is channel surf for 10 minutes and you'll catch Jake or carelton sheets.
