Everybody loves test, right? Most of the megadose stacks include test, and it works fine as a standalone as long as you control estrogen and DHT conversions.
Everybody also thinks prohormones are lame and can never measure up to actual AAS. Most of the prohormones info exchange here goes down on the supplement board, and only a little on the anabolic boardl; obviously nobody considers them hardcore anabolics.
Why that is, I have no idea. Maybe the thrill of using illegal stuff and the taboo of shooting it directly into your body.
Here's food for thought:
4-AD, 4-Androstenediol, converts directly to testosterone.
Holy shit! Wait, then how come it doesn't seem to work as well? This has entirely to do with dosages.
Let's say someone uses 1g of test per week. Certainly a common higher dosage.
Now if you use 1g of 4-AD per week, results won't be nearly that good. In fact, the 4-AD label recommends 1.5-2.0 grams per week of the stuff as a low-to-moderate dose.
Before you say "well duh, it's not as good as straight test," consider this: the prohormone is only 30-40% available transdermally, and even less (10-20%) orally.
So when you use 1g/week of the stuff, only about 300-400mg/week actually end up becoming testosterone. In actuality, about 2.8 g/week of 4-AD would give you 1g/week of test. Now it's a pain in the ass to use that much transdermal, you'd be jellying half your body.
But the point is that, with dosages high enough to overcome at the skin layer, you CAN reach high dosages of PURE TEST in the bloodstream through use of a LEGAL product.
Vendors do sell 4-AD powder for as little as $1-5 per GRAM that enterprising bodybuilders could find a way to inject. Or if you're doing a cycle that includes moderate test dosages and don't mind transdermals, 4-AD can be a cheap and legal way to obtain the effects of pure test.
4-AD stacks very well with any AAS that doesn't aromatize; such a stack would work very well for a bulking cycle.
Just a friendly informational bulletin.
