AAS and Heart sides

Writing a college term paper..Came across an interesting article from German Scientists who only work with AAS. What is nice about it is that they dont say dont take them, but dont "misuse them".

The intake of anabolic-androgenic steroids (AAS) leads to an increase in skeletal muscle mass and is prohibited as a doping measure in sport. AAS abuse is not limited to competitive athletes. It is also prevalent in subjects who do body building or resistance training for cosmetic reasons only. Out of the numerous and partly serious side effects, the cardiovascular ones are presented here. An increase in left ventricular muscle mass is well documented, and some researchers have even reported concentric hypertrophy. By contrast, resistance training without AAS intake does not lead to increased ventricular wall thickness. AAS do not affect the systolic function of the left ventricle, whereas diastolic function might be impaired. Different ultrastructural myocardial alterations have been documented in animal studies. In addition, AAS can induce arterial hypertension. Blood clotting and fibrinolysis are negatively affected, and several case studies of thrombi exist in young strength athletes. Changes in the concentration of blood lipoproteins, particularly a reduction in vessel-protective HDL cholesterol, can lead to early atherosclerosis. Many case reports exist about cardiac deaths in seemingly healthy subjects--most often body builders and other strength athletes. In fatal and nonfatal myocardial infarctions patent coronary arteries were proven frequently. Besides the prothrombotic effects of AAS, an impaired endothelial function and vasospasms are discussed hypothetically as pathomechanisms. Also, cardiomyopathies can occur due to AAS abuse. On the basis of the described possible cardiovascular side effects, it can be concluded that in cases of sudden cardiac deaths in young athletes, a misuse of AS should be excluded.

wow, so wtf does that mean. AAS does not cause sudden cardiac death? but does alter the heart somewhat. i've read that resistance training with or without aas increases the left ventricular muscle mass. these reports are conflicting. but interesting.

How can I access this study. This web site you posted didn't allow me to access the study. What was the duration of this study. What doseages did they administer and of what? I'd like to know more about the researcher's findings.

for some reason the link wont let me get there either. I recieved link through SCDiscus

So, how can I see it. Can you at least find out what journal, volume, and month in which it was published?

Interesting.

I developed irregular heartbeat while on my last test e cycle, my Dr.(Cardiologist)said I was fine, and to finish cycle if I wanted,EKG was okay,BLood pressure good. But I noticed heart beat back to normal by the time I finished my PCT.

Belive it or not I used to get odd twinges ..daily..in my chest around the heart ..untill I did my first cycle then it stoped and hasent com back since

when on cycle i feel my heartbeat more than when off is what i notice, nothing irregular though..

what did you conclude was "irregular"

like 3 beats at a certain pace and then 6 at another pace and then back to the original pace or what

My heart skip beats sometimes and everytime it does, I feel a weird sensation in my chest; isn't frequent but at least every 2 days. Some years ago, before using AAS, it was worse. I used to have some sort of "attacks" where my heart all of a sudden started skipping beats like every 2 pumps; very scary and uncomfortable; one day I was 100% sure that I was going to die; those attacks lasted from 4 hours to 12 hours. I might add that at that time, I was working until late at night, with bad quality sleep and eating very bad; filling up my stomach with shit and not the necessary nutrients.

Reading this is giving me angina,

I don’t know about those crazy Germans, have you ever been to Germany, and seen their toilets, I lost a lot of respect for them when I saw their toilet design, then they purchased Chrysler,

However I do have mytrol valve prolaspe, and take medication for it. But had that before I took gear.

So in conclusion the Germans- you know Einstein in spite of everything was even German

In conclusion the Germans after developing d-bol have concluded:

“it can be concluded that in cases of sudden cardiac deaths in young athletes, a misuse of AS should be excluded.”

But we already knew that, so what are they really trying to say? Come on guys get with the program. Where have they been for the past 35 years?

“Intellectual growth should commence at birth and cease only at death”
Unless you are German.

They should just join this forum and would learn a lot more.
