AAP, Lost, and the Candidates...

So my new theory which I told my wife and she said "Wow you might be right."

The Candidates thing is all BS to throw off the Black Smoke. Jacob's replacement is going to be Desmond. After watching this past weeks episode I don't know how it couldn't be. He was doing everything Jacob use to do.

The one thing my wife said was "Desmond isn't on the candidate list."...which is true, which is why I think the list doesn't mean anything.

So in the end, I think the island will blow up, Desmond will be the sole survivor (other than Whitmore) but it will be as if none of what happened on the island occured which is why you see flash forwards with everyone having survived and having memories of what happened in flashes.

Sounds plausible

but then again, so does anything else 100 monkeys with 100 typewriters hammer out. Lost is like that

I don't know.

What Rose and her husband? Are they candidates? Haven't seen them in forever.

I think it might be Hurley. It seems that every one of the others have been touched by death.

Kate killed someone.
Sawyer killed someone.
Jack had his father death on his hands.
Sayid has killed people
Miles communicates with the dead
Jin has killed people
etc...

Or it could be Richard. He was already marked by Jacob as an immortal. He may sacrifice himself to stop the black smoke.
