i have a dream of losing my fucking teeth.. it scares me to death... i would like to find out what this dream means to some... any sites?

SEARCH FOR FREUD'S TRANSLATION OF DREAMS (OR SOMETHING TO THAT SORT).

from that site

If your teeth are rotten, crooked, and/or falling out this means that your lies are hurting someone very badly and that you will soon be found out.

whatcha do???

there's always two paths with dream analysis... one says that its the obvious, like if you are in college and about to play in a big game and you keep dreaming that you fumble the ball, well then obviously it's you're nerves...

the other says that dreams are really just the subconscious thoughts revealing themselves, thought that we deny or aren't capable of in our waking lives...

thank my hippie mother for that one...

i may hurt people but i dont lie to them... and the only hurtful situation i have been in lately is over now...

i get this dream WAY too much too... like once every 2 months... i get the losing teeth one and i get one where i cannot play ball for shit (i cant) and one where i can HIT and HIT and HIT someone but my punches have no affect on them at all... they stop right before i make contact and just tap the other person... i never lose the fight, i never get hit... i just cannot do anything in it either...

rule out the obvious first, like if you have a dentist appointment or if like the site you saw says, you are overly concerned with appearances,

but never overlook what things may be telling you... the brain is very powerful and still not very understood... supposedly when sleeping we use a lot more (like 20 times more or something) of it than while awake... and our subconscious is very in tune with things that our conscious is not...

this one is due to the psyc class that used to follow my third year elec. engineering class... if i'd fall asleep in my class i'd have to stay for the next one cuz i'd be too embarrased to leave :)

i believe re-occuring dreams are supposed to be deeper symbols of fears or obsticles in your life or something...

hey... i was right... learning through sleep osmisis is such a wonderful thing...

well good luck with the dreams... often when you identify the source of the dream and make it known to the conscious or waking mind, they go away... but i'm no expert in it... i'm an engineer ;)

dreams scare me... in a sense that is... last week i had a dream that the ex gf/girl i thought i still loved hooked up with another guy and told me about it while she was staying with me... well she was supposed to stay with me this week.. anyway... i woke up and got online to email her to set my mind at ease and instead i was on the receiving end of an email stating that this infact was true... i saw the tom hanks movie castaway the night before with the new girl... and i KNEW then that it was over with the old one... the mind is more powerful than most think possible..... we may all be one energy force that actually shares thoughts of some sort... kind of like thinking of us as neurons making up a gigantic brain.

there are so many theories, and this one is not that unheard of, afterall it is electrical impulses that our brain sends to our body that keep us alive, whats to say that these are transmitted in other ways too... and to other people...

I HAVE DREAMS (NIGHTMARES ACTUALLY) ALL THE TIME. SOMETIMES I HAVE THE SAME ONES. MOST OF THE TIME (ABOUT 5 TIMES A MONTH) I JUMP UP OUT OF MY SLEEP IN A COLD SWEAT.

I THINK MINE ARE JUST STRESS RELATED THOUGH. I LEAD A VERY STRESSFULL LIFE.

TAKE SOME MELATONIN AND SEE WHAT KIND OF CRAZY JOURNEY YOU GO ON WHILE YOU ARE SLEEPING!!!

Damn, I dream of being electrocuted at least once or twice every three months. I really hope that's not how I'm going to die, because it really bloody hurts.

hardgainer ( )

wait, you mean to tell me that something on the web was spouting forth untruths and inconsitancies?
no way.

if you believe that X leads to Y in dream pattern research, then you will also likely enjoy horroscopes a lot too.
Freud did much investigation and hypothesising on this stuff and well... he is generally considered to be totally full of shit by any scientist and only really followed still as an interested part of our past and it makes interesting art theory in modern ideas.

if all this excites you, then I have a book on Freudian interpretation of dreams, and what he has to say about teeth falling out:
it is a result of a conflict and the embarrasment that follows or that you think will follow

as i said, this is stuff my hippie mother used to talk all the time about... she probably has the book that you're talking about :)

(how freudian of me to blame all of this on my mother ;) )

I've had both those dreams a lot.
as far as I can tell, if you are like me, the dreams are signs that you are a total asshole.
lord knows I am.
