A Sky High Butt

I've been working for a while, want to lose fat, I work out 4 days a week and do six days of cardio, my eating is pretty good, I think! My ass is getting rock hard, sky high and feels bigger; it needs to get smaller. I'm building my ass instead of losing it!!! What do I need to do? I'm 5' 9" with 43 inch hips, there has got to be a way to lose the big butt....

LOL -- so people will no have to look up to your butt??? LOL!

Butt... seriously! (OH help. make it stop! ;) ) No seriously, what is your weight and bodyfat? Sounds like everything is going good - due to the law of "no such thing as spot reduction", you may be seeing your overall bodyfat drop, making your upper body tighter / smaller while the lower part is still a hold out? If you have more fat cells concentrated in the nether regions, they are still reducing at the same rate as the rest of your body but it just looks like it aint' workin??

Maybe just stay consistent and keep pounding away, and the booty will start shrinkin...? (relatively speaking...)

Sky High

I have 22% bodyfat. Since I started working out, I've lost the fat but the weight keeps going up! (I was at 29% before)

Forgot to post my weight

I weigh a god awful 163 (That just makes me sick) Same thing with my legs thay are rock hard also but they are just getting huge.

Excellent progress going from 29% to 22%! Of course your weight has gone up, because you've been replacing fat with muscle. For awhile it might seem like your butt is getting bigger, that's just because you can't lose fat and add muscle at exactly the same rate. If you keep lowering your bodyfat though, your butt and legs will get smaller. Sometimes it will seem like you're losing fat everywhere except your butt, at least that's how I felt.

As you continue to add muscle, you'll be able to burn even more fat, so DON'T try to add more cardio and do less weights in an attempt to burn more fat. You want to keep building muscle. A pound of muscle takes up a lot less space than a pound of fat. This takes time.

If you say your eating is "pretty good", then your diet could probably use some improvement. All the weight training and cardio in the world will NOT make up for a lousy diet. You don't have to drastically change your diet all at once, but challenge yourself to make some positive changes each week. It will help you in your workouts and your results will come more quickly.

You could also try a fat burner like Adipokinetix. For me, that one seemed to target the butt and thigh fat the best.

Does it look like this yet? If not, it ain't close to huge, at least not from lifting. Keep working on the bodyfat. Get down to 15% and your ass and legs will shrink considerably. Be happy you're getting a good response to the exercise program.
