A Sane Drug Policy

All drugs should be under the responsibility of a doctor! prescription, anti ageing, HRT, steriods, recreational, experimental, etc.
Drugs are a medical, physiological issue and in the case of hard drugs, (say methadrine) a physiological and sociological issue. Never are they really a criminal issue. This would put the milllions of people regularly taking drugs under the care of a doctor who could monitor their health, do blood tests, and council them about abuse. Under a doctors care, with a steady, inexpensive supply of a pure drug people could manage their drug habit and (hopefully) move away from using drugs.
This would free up the police to catch violent criminals. It would unburden the courts and prisons with non violent people. It would stop making millionares out of drug dealers and end the violence associated with illegal drug trade.
We should recognize that tens of millions of people do drugs and trying to put them all in prison is not the answer. Our laws should be based on what is, not on someone idea of what should be.

good thought process, but whom is going to be able to pay the doctors if they lack insurance, and the demand for doctors would kind of get a little out of hand and then at that point with those being doctors that probably shouldn't have, the system will be abused in one way or another. i feel there is not an easy answer to this question, as the black market has gotten way to big and much to profitable for the government to step in and compete
