Velvett, thanks for the quote and your concern, and trying to be of aid.

I'm not sure if we share the same beliefs about what will make us happy. I know that although these material things I chase for will satisfy a part of me, they will not satisfy me as a whole.

Only following God and trusting in Him, is what would enable me to truly be happy.
The problem is that this can be so hard to do, and I dont feel like I am ready to entirely do it yet.

I've always thought it seemed unfair to expect someone else to make me happy. That's a lot of responsibility to assign to another person. Even if someone does everything they can to try to please someone else, if that person is miserable with him/herself, it's all in vain anyhow.

i dont think that its so much that I am disatisfied because a woman isnt here to please me,

but I think its that I'm more so disatisfied in my courage and willpower to go out there and make myself get a woman.

just a thought that I figured I'd add.

Well... I feel like I need to go out and be more productive, be more of a man, grow some courage, and ask some more women out, in order to make myself happier.

I feel that getting a woman from this is only proof that I have done the actions stated above. (and that's why I attribute so much value to having a woman)

Well, you missed my point - it's not to get a girlfriend it's to get experience talking to people.

Getting out there and talking to strangers and being liked by them (or rejected you never know) is the type of experience you should have.

If you can skip trying to make friends with strangers and go straight to asking girls out - then DO IT!.

yeah, i've made friends with strangers before. Its easy. I've made friends with girls who are strangers too before. That isnt as easy, but its not hard.

I havent really asked out that many girls yet though, so I think that should be my next step, as you affirmed. :)

I have asked out a girl before. I've done it with 3 different girls before. (asking them out that is)

Awhile ago at the end of the school year I asked a girl if she wanted to hang out over the summer, and we exchanged numbers (we've hung out in a group setting a lot since, but not one on one)

Last year, I asked a girl to some 3-date event that was going on at my school, and got rejected.

And I also emailed that one girl and got shut down (but maybe that doesnt count cuz it was over email, i dunno)


But I will try to ask out another girl by the deadline that velvett stated.
