Why in the heck do they strip a road and then wait 4 to 6 months before they reasphalt it. Do city officials get better kick back for stripping companies or what? These stipped roads are dangerous for bikes.
Yea I just read about a fellow biker that lost his life in Corpus Christi because of the dang road construction. I heard they are going to ride on city hall a week from tuesday. I think that would be fun.
There is a street close by. The construction crew is always there with cones and flags and stuff. Nothing ever gets done....been going for a few years.
Looks like a very profitable kickback program to me.
Here in NY... the Long Island Expressway has been under construction for 20 years now.... looks like it won't be done for another 20 to me, if not more. There is never a day that you're on the LIE and not hit traffic.
I repair road construction equipment and lemme tell ya im not here to defend them. But at least i know i have job security!! they can break a sampsonite without blinking an eye...
Seriously.....they have deadlines on alot of jobs and very few have bonuses for getting done early. sooo as long as it is started by a certain date and finished by a certain date then they are sittin pretty. also if they have a contract with a township or city for numerous streets then they will grind them(strip them) then after they are all ground they will come back and pave them. also cutting out cracked roadway and patching it if required or requested....
