i am limited on seringes,so my question is how should i clean them?
alchol or hydrogen perioxide?
just the seringe not the pin.
Thanx

How can you be limited on syringes when they are a non-prescription item? Just walk into the pharmacy and ask for x amount of 3ml syringes with what ever guage you want. If you really want to clean them, pull out the plunger, use alcohol (not peroxide) and fill the syringe, put the plunger back in, and very slowly inject the alcohol out. However, to remain completely sterile, buy more.

They are still prescription -needed in some States.

Cleaning needles is not a hard thing to do...BUT...they are very easy to find around here. You can pick up 10 or 20 BD's if you need to and not even worry about receiving them by mail.

Syringes are only available in the drug store by prescription in California

I am a graduate student in a genetics and biochemistry lab and have found plenty of organisms that are resistant to alcohol, boiling water, etc. Two good methods are to use 70% bleach/H20 or VERY strong peroxide solution (stronger than you'll find in the store). There are some pre-surgical solutions that you MIGHT be able to purchase that also work (derivatives of Betadine).

However, the ONLY thing that works 100% of the time is UV light. Don't look at it and don't expose your skin to it. Irradiate your syringes for about 10 to 15 minutes and nothing will be left!!! Soak your needles in 70 - 100% bleach.

As a reminder to most of you guys from Canada, syringes are a prescribed item. Some states do sell them over the counter, but that's pretty hard when none of the states around you do that. Just try to find someone that works in a hospital or something.

I agree with the others this is rediculous. Unless you already have UV sterilizing equipment the cost and effort is going to be more than what it would to buy them, even if they are hard to obtain in your state, not to mention it would be much more risky beacuse you can't be sure you completely sterilized them. Pins are so cheap... talk to 2thick he will hook you up.

went to the vet supply and picked up some seringes with the dart attached.
are these cool to use?
they say sterial, but for animals or humans?
3cc,22guage,1/12 inch
Thanx

They should be cool to use , better than cleaning your own . Beware of the sides from vet pins , you might crave some alpo . Go with the high protien lamb and rice alpo .LOL!

pins are cheap, buy new ones. Also the more you use the same syringe the harder it is going to be to push it through your skin, and that really hurts. I once had a friend pushing on the syringe cause it was so dull, that hurted for days.

Kingpin101 this isn't a flame bro but how old are you? The way you spell makes me wonder... I don't think kids should do gear.

WHAT!?!

CesarSJU...."what's the worst thing that could happen? You would just get an infection right?" .... Just and infection??? Dog you are really THAT nieve to think that an infection is NOT something serious. How about massive swelling, massive pain, massive antibiotics, possibility of having to go to surgery to drain the infection and then sitting in a hospital for up to a week taking iv antibiotics (Rocephin). Not to mention having to tell the doctor how you got the infection. Oh yeah and having to tell the nurses how you got it (remember that you have to talk with the nurse first BEFORE you even see the doctor). Then in the hospital everyone will know how you got the infection (embarassing). I love when people say to just tell the doctor how you got the infection (ie injections) like that information will stop there. Remember that when doctors go into your room (at the hospital) the door is usually open and they don't exactly whisper; and the first thing that they will ask you is how you got the infection; Remember you will most likely be dealing with several doctors (your family doc, the ER doc, then the surgeon, then possibly the infectious disease specialist -- all coming in and asking how you got the infection -- possibly asking infront of a family member that you don't want knowing how you got the infection). I hope that you don't think that I am exagerating either because I am not -- not at all. Take this shit seriously or your health will be compromised.
