A Monet sold for 80.5 million

you have to admit 80.5 million is nuts for painting
It's beyond nuts.

It is getting obscene, spending millions on a car, boat or a house at least adds surplus capital to production/development, creates jobs etc.

Spending that money on an item with only artificial value does nothing for any economy.

I could think of 80 million better ways of spending that money.

b0und (oh yes I could)

Damn that is alot of money for a painting!!!! What else comes with it??? :D

that is one ugly piece of shit, I wouldn't even hang that in my house.

you'd have to pay me 80.5 million just to put it up, wow some people are fucked.

I was not even his best work.
usually paintings are bought for investments by firms.
Someone is prob collecting monet's work building a exhibit that will tour around the world at musems and art galleries , charging people 30$+ a pop to see the works

The painting will eventually pay for itself and the collector will have a continual source of income for life unless he keeps it private . Then you have to wonder ?
What would a house look like if someone would be willing to hang a 80million dollar painting on the wall? Must be one hell of a house !

money has no intrinsic value, hence spending 80 million isnt technically wasteful. its jsut the games rich people play
True when people have billions of dollars 80 million is a drop in the bucket,
Now if they will push the bucket my way I'd be willing to take a few million from them
