guy that works out at my gym hired me a couple of years ago to defend him in a possession case and i got the charges dismissed in the middle of the trial. a few months later at the gym he asked me a "hypothetical" question about the possible penalties for distribution. gave him a few details and the recommendation that he steer clear of distribution.
fast forward:
yesterday i'm in the squat rack, the guy is behind me in the bench area, and i see a couple of uniformed officers walk up to him and start talking to him (the guy starts talking and answering questions). a few minutes later one walks him a few steps away the other searches his bag, pulls out a couple of dozen vials and some pins. the pins aren't illegal in this state unless they're used for introducing a non prescribed drug into the body. the number of vials i saw will probably up this from a misdemeanor possession to a felony charge. guy called me bright and early this morning
lessons learned:
don't ever, ever, ever talk to the police. they are trained interrogators and will get answers from you.
don't sell.
if you do sell, don't carry the shit around in your gym bag and leave it half open
