I think that selected responsible, upstanding citizens such as school principals, miliary officers, and businessmen should carry concealed handguns and be trained on how to effectively use them. Not all would carry, but a good number of them should, without anyone knowing who.

Think of all the crimes committed over the last several years (Columbine, Luby's,etc) where some knucklehead with a gun walks into a place and immediately has everyone at their mercy because he is armed. Innocent people die one by one until the police finally get control or the guy kills himself. If my scenario were a reality, the knucklehead would only get a chance to make one shot before some principal/businessman pulls out his concealed firearm and makes one well-aimed shot after issuing a warning.

After this occured a few times, any would-be assassin would know that in any restaruant, bank or school, there is likely to be at least one citizen who is packing. This would serve as a deterrent to violent crime.

I would not give a warning, reaction is the only thing that will save your life. The rest after that is just the details.

People are just fancy animals, some deserve killing because of their weakness. It's like culling out a pasteur of cattle, some just have to go for the health of the herd.

I have a problem with the notion that people with views that oppose yours are the 'bad' guys to you.

For example, on the abortion issue I am strongly pro-choice. That doesn't mean that I consider people who are pro-life as 'bad'. I respect other people's views even when they contradict mine.

I respect other people's views as well.

That doesn't mean they're right.

Every one is a individual and this society/government is founded on the principles of a republic. Individuals have rights, we are the kings of our own lives.

This country is NOT a democracy and was NOT founded as one! It was founded as and still is a REPUBLIC. Do you people not understand that DEMOCRATS I.E. DEMOCRACY stand for something OTHER than what this country was founded upon???

I'm convinced that there is a Heaven, because having to put up with this buffoonery for the next 90-100 years of my life MUST have some kind of reward to it.
