HK USP High Cap mags are running about 100 dollars a pop these days.
As Don said...
DO IT! (repeat as necessary)
I haven't had any experience with HK Customer Service, but that's because no one's brought me one to be repaired.
Funny story follows...
A LEO from a town not far from here brought a pistol case into the gunshop one day, plopped it down on the counter and told me he wanted to "Trade this POS for something that shoots straight."
I opened the case to find a pristine HK USP 9mm.
I asked him what was wrong with it, and he said he couldn't hit the broad side of a barn with it and wanted to trade it in on something that had some accuracy.
Well, this got me a little curious and so I asked him if he'd mind if I took it out to the range in back of the shop and put a couple magazines through it. (I do this often, I have free test ammo and will take any excuse possible to shoot someone else's guns!)
I took it back to the range, and put an entire magazine through the X-ring of the target, turned to the owner and said, "Bud, there's nothing wrong with your pistol!"
He demonstrated.
At 15 yards, he was putting every single round into the dirt in front of the target. I spent over an hour with him trying to train the Anticipation out of his horrid shooting technique. He's my first "Failure to Learn." I couldn't break him of it no matter how hard I tried.
Yes, we should give up our guns and let the Police protect us. They are all "Trained Professionals."
(Disclaimer; Not all LEOS are incompetent with Firearms, some are just flat out amazingly good! But there is a disturbing percentage of them that can't hit the broad side of a barn at 15 yards.)
