a few OBSERVATIONS about the SCORPION KING.....

it was a cool movie. not what i expected but it was a fun movie to watch. it was too short though. i did find kelly hu very hot and very somewhat naked in this one. that's worth it too. very action packed without the gore. if you liked the mummy, mummy returns, conan and the like, you'll like this one.

i'll own this one on dvd when it comes out for sure. i give it 4 out of 5.

I give it a solid thumbs up!I feel like The Rock had a very reserved,well acted performance,and a very solid screen presence.No WWF cornball bravado.I think he has a good future ahead of him as an action star.I definitely recommend the movie,great entertainment!

I agree with Huck. The rock actually made a MOVIE this time, not a COMMERCIAL. He has all the action tools, physique and dead panned humor necessary to become the next ARnold of the film world.

You should see it before passing judgement on it. This is NOT a WWF movie. In many ways it resembles Arnolds first Conan movie. Was Arnold a dork in that movie? Of course. Constantly doing the "BB" thing with clenching his forearms and twitching his pecs. Here the Rock actually becomes the Scorpion King and not the other way around. Don't go to see the movie because The Rock is in it. Because he is not. Go because it marks the new character development of Dwayne Johnson.

He got $500,000 for a small part in the mummy 2-----5.3 million for the scorpion king which will probably be doubled(if not more) for the scorpion king 2---------Hell the guy has put on dresses and played parts on saturday night live that other actors wouldn't dare do....So he is looking at over a 20 million dollar pay day(combined)for these 3 movies......I don't think he's worried about looking like a dork--he has already been their and done that and still the crowds love him...go figure...

I thought there was a good chance it would suck but after it was over I was bummed that there was not more and I give credit where credit is due. Dwain Johnson did a great job with that role.

I saw the movie and i thought it sucked. I'm glad they didn't call it Mummy 3. Its good they made it more of a spin off from the Mummy returns so they wouldn't ruin the Mummy movie name.

my friend saw it and he said it was corny. im like no way really? and he said yes and he mentioned how i know he likes those kind of movies and even he thought it was corny and i should trust him on that one. i didnt go see it.

Is the movie original and intelligent?

I really want to see it--it looks VERY cool--but I've been burned by the first two Mummy movies (watched the second DVD just last night). Awful dialogue, horrible characters, and ripoffs of so many other films I was laughing.

I'm really hoping for great things from Scorpion King. Whattaya think--good, or cheesy?

I'm about to watch it in a few minutes. I hated The Mummy and I never saw The Mummy returns. Everyone is hyping him up as the next big action hero, so we'll see what happens. If this movie is anything like the Conan movies, I'm sure I'll dig it.

I liked it. It's no Conan movie, but it was fun to watch. The Rock was better than I thought he'd be. I only have 2 gripes about it.

1. Weak plot.
2. Horrible character development.

The 2nd pisses me off more. They didn't take any time to tell you a background about the characters or how they came to be. It would've made the movie a lot better. They jump into the story way too fast. The should've at least covered some background info on the Scorpion King in the first 5-10 minutes of the movie. They could've just eliminated his brother. He really served no point in the story.
