A dumass asking about MP3 players...

So I am thinking of buying a flash memory MP3 player for my wife who can use it while she runs. (Evidently the ones with bigger memory have hard drives, and they can skip if you use them while running.)

The problem is my home computer, I am not sure it will do the job. It is a 3 year old HP pavilion model 7915, windows XP, but it does not have a CD burner. It does have Media Player and MusicMatch. And it does have a USB port.

I know this is an idiot question, but will my computer be able to rip music to an MP3 player? I am assuming it can based on what I have been reading, but I want to be sure before I buy the thing.

Thanks,

Bluesman

yeah it will, no problem. might take a while to rip depending on your processor and ram but it's definitely capable of what you need it for.

have you chosen an mp3 player yet?

You don't need a burner to rip music from a CD; a regular cdrom will work fine. You can also download music obviously.
