A DC Training question

I am on my frist week of DC, have to say I was very suprised at the workouts. I am looking forward to seeing how I end up after 2 months. (The time I am giving my self to see how it works) My question: I am only going to use one muscle group for the example. During DC you train chest 3 times in a week and a half. But you are doing 3 different exer. there for hitting each part once every week in a half.

Lets say you work out a body part once a week. Most people at least do flat, incline and flys for one work out. If you follow that, you are working all 3 chest parts every week, not a week and a half like in DC. you might not grow as fast but you will grow more complete.

I am not saying one is better then the other, I do not have the knowlege yet to compare but I just wondered if my line of thinking was accurate or not?

There are not three chest parts known as flat, incline, and fly. Those are three exercises that target chest. You would probably see the most growth in your chest if you concentrated on incline presses as well as parallel dips. Ditch the flies, get some good exercises in there and you will see great results on DC.

No, I think you are not understanding the purpose of DC training. . . read the thread closely to get the overall picture.

If you follow the routine closely, you will be amazed on the gains you will bring in.

I am not sure if I am following your question. . what is it that you are planning to pursue in terms of a routine?

Yep, when you are pushing to failure, and beyond, squeezing out that last reps of a set of Bench Press, believe me, all of the muscle fibre in your chest will be recruited. In fact, the body will do everything in its power to bring in as many other muscles to assist, hence the tendency to loose form!!!

Stick to compound movements and you will not be disappointed.

BTW, if you are hitting DC hard, then 8 weeks in a row is tough. You might be ok, but its good to get a cruising week in there at some point to give yourself time to fully recover

Good luck...

The pec is serviced by the same tendon of insertion. There aren't three parts. You can emphasize the clavicular or sternal portions of the pec, but the best exercises hit them both hard.

Those are the exercises you pick for DC, incidentally. Don't piss about with 27.89 degree cable flies. Go for the heavy iron.

In the end, training each bodypart 3x every two weeks is far superior to twice. The extra work in the less frequent workouts doesn't yield the kind of growth that more frequent sessions do.

NO, NO, I did not mean I was not following the DC program. I am to the tee. and no there is no flies in there. I was comparing 2 different styles, is it better to work chest with 3 excer. a day once a week then using DC which you work the same in a week and a half. Thats all. A non DC person works flat, incline and lets say decline. he/she just busted thier chest to hell every part of it. In DC it takes you a week and a half to hit what you just hit in that week. I do understand during DC you are hitting it so hard I am sure all your chest muscles kicked in to help with the workout. That makes sense. That was the missing link I was not seeing. Thanks.

I can tell you that in my one set to absolute failure my chest and all other bodyparts are absolutely thrashed. If you can duplicate the effort in one set of bench on the next set than on the previous set you did not push yourself to the limit. After my 1 set of DC there is no way I could even do another exercise for any bodypart. read the article I dont think u have a full understanding of his style. Once u go to failure u r going to grow so y do another set? It makes no sense. With DC u train and grow 3 times in 1 1/2 weeks whereas with a typical workout u grow once per week. Ill take 3 times over 1 anyday. Also if u are worried about fullness do the stretches, I guarentee youll see a fuller more developed muscler belly within 1 month.
