I know it's cruel to post something like this and not have the answer, but that's the reason for the post. I saw this posted on another website awhile back, and knowing some of you are BRILLIANT (you know who you are) I figured I'd post it here and see if any of you could figure it out. Enjoy!

"There are three words in the English language that end with 'gry'. Two of these are angry and hungry. The third word is a very common word, and you use it often. If you have read what I have told you, you will see that I have given you the third word. What is the third word? Think very carefully."

Yep. The bulk of the "riddle" is bull. The stuff about words ending in 'gry' is just ment to throw you off.

The real riddle can be summed up as so: "you will see that I have given you the third word. What is the third word?"

Third is the word. In this case, it's numeric position or connotation is irrelevant.

After reading the riddle and the explanation, I'm completely confused. I have been sitting here on the net for 5 hours and it has become appearent that i must now go to bed because my cognitive and reasoning skills are gone.

i may be restarded from studying for exams, but i dont see how "third" is the answer?
i mean in "what is THE THIRD WORD" wouldnt the third word there be "word"?

its not like the other version where its got "whats the third word in the english language" in such simplicity, but the only comparative thing i can see is what i posted above.
