A bit confused

The formulas of xenadrine, hydroxycut and all other stimulant (weight loss aids) or what ever you want to call them....

How exactly do they work? It says they work as part of a calorie controlled diet and I am not ignorant on this front.

I normally take them pre workout to give me an increase in focus/concentration but what's the point of taking them 3 times a day if you are just sitting down at a desk and not moving around?

Will they really make all that much of a difference when sitting down at the office if you are used to such stimulants?

My point is, should I take them when I wake up, at 2pm and at 5:30pm pre workout or should I just take them pre-workout and be done with it?

I would personally only use them pre-workout so that you don't build up a stim tolerance. I would suppose the theory behind the several dosages is that your metabolism is stimulated by caffeine. IMO, it's not worth it to waste the product to stimulate metabolism. Instead focus on calorie restriction and if you want to get fancy try macro manipulation/carb cycling/etc...
