Our company had trouble with viruses last year but at that time it wasn't affecting me.. well now looking back at my log file in symantec it dates all the way back to then
yea, 90.. symantec would disable itself at night before the automatic updates so I never would get any virus alerts... all of those in there were from 4/6/05
I have an antispy software running too but it just wasn't working. The tech went in and manually deleted some things but it didn't solve the problem.
Might want to try AVG free edition instead of Norton. I was a regular user of Norton until I tried it. Combine it with Firefox, Spybot, SpywareBlaster, and Ad-Aware SE, and you'll be pretty safe.

none of that worked before.. .we seem to have a moron that views porn sights all the time.. where he's not supposed to be. and then it spreads thru out the company. Had to do some work late middle of last year but weird it hadn't affected me then, now it shows up that that virus has me down.
I have Microsoft antispyware and corp edition of symantec running constantly.
the virus had disabled my virus software and when it was time to update definitions it wouldn't so I hadn't had an update since 4-05.
Now, fresh ... cleaned out my drive starting from scratch.
My boss tells everyone that though.. blames all of my computer issues on my porn addiction. Was telling the IT man that today and I got that look from him.. but he was cute so i didn't mind.
he couldn't stop the popups, or the crashes.. was just horrible.. My basic workday has been non productive cause if i couldn't save every 30sec's I'd lose everything
