72oz steak...

just saw a night in reno with billy bob thornton and he ate at the place in amarillo where u get a 72oz steak and sides and if u eat it all u get it free .. anyone here done that or think they could do it?


i might be able to get the steak down but no way the sides too

Yes, I was there a few months ago. I can eat huge amounts but that one kicked my ass. I do however have an excuse.

At app. 9am we had an all you can eat breakfast buffet.

At about 3pm we had a lunch buffet.

At around 6pm we arrived in Amarillo. We ordered the steaks, I drank 2.5 pitchers of beer waiting for it to be cooked. I ordered another pitcher with the meal. In one hour I ate most of the side dishes which consisted of shrimp cocktail,roll, salad and baked potatoe. U only get 1 hour and I ate 60 ounces of the steak. There slogan is that if you can't eat it in one hour you couldn't do it anyhow. So I pissed them off and finished it in another 20 minutes, finished my beer and ordered a piece of blueberry cheescake and said kiss my ass if this fuking steak wasn't a huge piece of fuking leather I would've made time.

i like steak but i think i would have to go all day without eating just to be able to eat it and then i wouldnt be able to eat the sides either just the steak. thats a big maybe

Well it is fun, and really the steak was "ok". And cheap--$50.00. It did have a lot of rough spots but had a good flavor. The shrimp cocktail was NASTY. It was like little bait shrimp in a disgusting tomatoe soup sauce. Supposedly some dude ate that steak in 9 minutes. And another dude ate 2 in 1 hour. Damn! I am 5'9 and about 260, the dude sitting next to me was 6'3 and around 325 and he ate less than I did. We had the puke can between us but neither of us needed it. However if there was ever a time in my life when I thought about developing a habit some of those skinny models and Hollywood stars have with weight control this was it.
