5x5 Supersetting?

Anyone know if this would be a good idea or not?

So say your exercises are:
Incline DB Press
DB Rows
Arnold Press
DB Curls
Skull Crushers
Squats

To decrease time and increase rest for each exercise, would supersetting the exercises be ok?

So DB Press + Rows, Arnolds + Curls, Skull Crusher + Squats
30 - 60 sec rest between.

Ahmmm I think you would benefit with a higher volume routine, more reps, more sets and exercises.

5x5 it's a great routine as it is, modifying it do way you are trying too, breaks it's essence so it will become something else entirely. And neither of them will meet your purposes. Sorry if this wasn't what you wanna read but that's what I think! You need another routine that will induce more changes on body composition, heavy supersets it's a good way to go, as long as your diet is in check! Is it n check?

I think supersetting does not necessarily mean you will lose weight.

I have used supersets to gain mass before. It just means a more intense workout - doesnt have to mean more volume which would lead to more calory usuage.

If your diet and rest is in check, supersets can help take your workouts to a next level. Also try drop-setting, running the rack, giant sets, etc...

Cool.. thanks for the info.
Well my reasoning for the 5x5 at this point is this.
I've dropped about 80 - 90 lbs (about 14%+ bf). Right now I'd like to build up my strength and work on my muscles a bit (Not really a bulking though).
I also do some HIIT Cardio at the end of the workout. Diet is in check (using Needto's book), eating clean meals every 2 hours..

So my plan is to do 5x5 until April. Then in April, switch it up and do some sort of routine utilizing Complex's.

Thoughts? Thanks. :)
