5x5 or MAX-OT?

Hey guys, I'm a 16 year old kid. 5'5 133 lbs. I've been working out for about 1.5 years. The first year consisted of just dicking around and making noob gains, and the last half year I've really gotten into it. Anyways, I tried 5x5 a long time ago, but then transportation became a concern and I couldn't go to the gym at all for a month. 4 weeks ago I got my drivers license and could go to the gym, so I started MAX-OT.

I was wondering, should I ditch Max-OT and start 5x5 again? I like 5x5 better because it has more core lifts and it works the main lifts more than once a week. However, it seems like 5x5 works all of the smaller body parts such as bis, tris, shoulders, lats, delts, etc. BETTER. So, which one should I go with? Right now I'm leaning towards ditching MAX-OT and going with 5x5. What do you guys think? Thanks

if you like the 5x5 routine, switch to it and stick with it.

Alright thanks, I'll havta think about it. Probably gonna switch to 5x5 because I don't wanna do 8 more weeks of MAX-OT.

I used Madcows variation, btw. I liked it :)

Sounds good. BTW, at 16 you should use the one I linked above. Very few cases where a periodized program is going to make sense or provide any more results. Go with the one above and just pound on it until you find yourself in a period without progression. Then swap into something lower volume and frequency (like the 2x per week deload quoted below) for a few weeks, move back into the core program but start the weights a bit lower. You could hammer this for a while.

Monday:
Oly squats: 3x3
Bench: 3x3
Rows: 3x3

Wednesday (or move this workout to Thursday if you'd like)
Light Oly Squats (70% of monday): 3x3
Deadlifts: 3x3
Military Press: 3x3
Chins:3x3

Yeah..the reason I can't take MAX-OT too seriously is because I have a hard time being intense while doing tricep kickbacks and crap like that. And plus, it just doesn't feel *right* drinking a Post-WO shake and eating a steak and beans after "Abs and Triceps" day, ya know?

Yeah, I think I'm gonna go with 5x5. Squats and Deadlifts are practically my only good lifts lol

EDIT: So basically Ima follow Madcow's think except for de-loading I'll use the alternative. Alrighty cya folks in buff-town :artist:
