5x5 chest didnt get my reps

im in my 4th week of 5x5, I use incline db as my primary 5x5 for chest

Man im upset i didnt get my 5x5 this week on incline db everything else was up though for chest, 77.5 dbs it went 5 5 5 4 4

is this normal, i have been loving 5x5 this is the first time i didnt get my reps on anything.

You think I will nail it next time?

I did slow down the negative portion of the lift a bit this time around mabye thats what did it I normally go real slow but went a little slower this time.

How many seconds on average do u guys do on the negatives when you use dumbells?
 
Eventually everybody is going to hit a wall on 5X5. I say go another couple workouts to try and get all 5 sets of 5. If you're still stuck use the same weight but switch to 5X3. After a few weeks of that go back and nail the 5X5.

IMO it's a bad idea to use DB's for 5X5, unless you can go up in 2.5 lb increments in each DB every workout you're asking to plateua quickly.
 
yea I will go 5x5 next week and try it again, if i dont hit it I will go 4x5.

I have 2 pair of platemates, small magnetic weights, each pair weighs 1 1/4 lb so I can go up a total of 5lbs on my dumbells every week, they are a great investment if your a dumbell man.
