5x5 4th week

I just wanted to post this for anyone thinking about starting madcows 5x5. In a month my bench went from having trouble with 240 to being able to do 260 for 5 without that much of a problem. And my squat went from about 185 to 245 for 5. I'll post more in detail results after a few weeks, but if you've been thinking about trying it definately give it a couple months of your life....you wont regret it.
 
i'm sold on it for the total deal, both strength and size.

However, when it comes to size only, i'd have to give HST a slight slight edge. maybe 15%. but with HST the strength gains aren't quite as good as the 5x5.

Then again I did HST back when I was smaller and 5x5 now when i'm bigger.

anywho, I am just rambling.
 
With my schedule, I started the 5X5 volume phase for 6 weeks, I'm on vacation for the deload week and then back for the final phase. I just finished week 5. I struggled with 215 on the bench. I just did 245 this morning with a bit of a struggle. I only started deads a few weeks before starting 5X5, but they've gone from struggling at 145 to 300 this week. On squats, I've been concentrating on going a2a (ass to ankles) - or close - and have built that back up to 275. I did 355 this morning going below parallel, but not a2a.
I've only eaten enough to maintain size (actually lost 3 pounds), but my strength has gone up quite well. On returning from vacation and starting the final phase, I'm upping my diet to see how I do.
