Ive been researching low dose testosterone for women and am getting mixed results... Some women absolutely love it, no sides besides muscle gain, increased sex drive. Other women say no thanks, got some of the typical negative sides. Does any female on here have any LEGITIMATE EXPERIENCES using low dose test?

I took very low dose test. for an extended period of time (about 5 months). However, it was transdermal. I was taking the equivalent of about 2.5 mg daily. Allowing for about 40% loss, that would be about 1.5 mg daily.

I stopped taking it when I shed a substantial amount of hair, seemed at least one third. It was an overall thinning so it's really only noticeable to me. It has not grown back and that's been over two years. Now, female pattern baldness runs in my family anyway, and I never had the greatest head of hair to begin with but I won't use test. like that again. I use it transdermally after ovulation until the beginning of my period, it keeps my cycle more regular.

It caused very subtle but permanent changes in my voice, which is a pinch deeper (my husband is aware of it, I've noticed I sing much better), I permanently carry more overall muscle mass and I have terrific muscle memory, if I slack off from the weights even for several months I'm back to where I was within six weeks or so. I do think I'm also "thicker" which isn't necessarily something I wanted (I'm also struggling with trying to lose weight and coming to the conclusion I probably have some thyroid issues so you can't use me to judge by in that regard).

Emotion wise, the main thing I noticed was that when I was using it, and I really was trying to take a physiologic dose, I was overall in a more pleasant mood and little shit was a lot easier to laugh off, but I would also have an extremely short temper.

50 mg of test. every 10 days is NOT a low dose for a woman, think more in the range of 10 mg a week, seriously. 50 mg/week is half the dose a man on HRT is on.

I'm a 260lb male who makes good gains at the gym. I naturally produce 30mgs of testosterone a week. The math put what you are looking at taking and what I produce naturally in the same ball park.
I would not recomend that much to a woman unless she was a bodybuilder.

Wowza that is on transdermal too at a very conservative dose yeah couldn't pay me enough to touch test....

Well, with regard to the hair thing, it is a family trait so :whatever: And the thing with transdermal, with regular use (even if you rotate sites) it builds up in the subcutaneous fat.

Yeah, I noticed a difference, even on a low dose, maybe I'm super sensitive to it, maybe I run a high test level naturally, maybe that's just what 10 mg of test a week does to a woman :whatever: I made a guinea pig out of myself. I don't regret the experiment, it kind of gave me some insight into being a guy :lmao: but I'd be lying if there haven't been some tradeoffs.

I mean, I won't dismiss using it when I'm menopausal but only when I can get a doc to monitor my blood levels and write me a script for Rogaine for women  I just don't think I can pull off the Sinead O'Connor thing.

What about trying Dermacrine LV? I've used it and really like the way it makes you feel.
I've never tried the Dermacrine (I have an intolerance problem with a couple of ingredients), but I know a few other girls have used it and have been really happy with the results, too. It certainly would be an infinitely better first choice for a woman who is still menstruating regularly before diving directly into testosterone.

unless you are a competitive bodybuilder there is no reason for a female to be on test (and even then I think it is bad.. but I'm not going to debate that subject.) the sides far outweigh the benefits of a low dose. it's just a bad idea.

If a woman has clinically low T production adding some T could make a huge impact on her quality of life. I'd recommend looking into ways to increase one's natural production though before considering adding exogenous testosterone.

I realize you don't wish to debate this issue, but I'm going to qualify your answer here becuase this is probably something that isn't within your realm of consideration. Some peri and all postmenopausal women benefit HUGELY from a physiologic dose of (bioidentical) testosterone. Women age faster than men when they go through menopause because they lose their hormones. Our skin thins, our sex drive plummets, we lose collagen and muscle, with a resultant loss of bone strength, drop in metabolism and gain of fat. If a woman gets herself on a good bioidentical HRT therapy program with an intelligent doctor she will be put on a combination of estrogen/testosterone and progesterone (not Premarin, which is just horsepiss and a poor substitute for what we really need).

So saying there is no reason for a woman to be on testosterone is patently wrong.
