I know. That pisses me off too. Like I've stated a million times, whoever has the best chance of beating Bush, gets my vote.

ok, explain to me how ralph nader running is not democracy in action.

People in this country are getting real sick of the current political system. More and more the democrats and republicans are showing that all they are really intersted in is maintaining power. And people, like myself, are fucking sick of it.

So again, forget about what you feel about nader and his chances of getting Bush reelected. Just explain to me what you mean when you say "democracy...... yea right."

are you serious? you think ralph nader running is destructive for democracy? the problem is the two party system. it does NOT represent the people. you want democracy so bad but you don't think anyone else should have the ability to run for president? it's ridiculous that you should only have two choices. personally, neither party's candidate represents my views or interests very well. some day i hope i'll see a candidate who does. and for once i'll be able to vote for a candidate that isn't the lesser of two evils.

you might be right, and I think people realize that now. He's made a mistake to get in, especially so late.

i didn't get to vote last time, so i didn't learn anything from it. nader 04!

so fucking what? the arguement can be made that the current system is part democracy, part republic.

as for nader running meaning bush will win, I'm not so sure. people may have learned their lesson from the last election. And one thing is for certain, more people are going to vote this year then in previous presidential elections. I hope so after what happened last time.

forget about what you read in school. you tell me if our current setup is a republic, democracy, or both.

"In a Democracy, the will of the majority outweighs the will of the few, or of the individual.
In a Republic, the will of the individual outweighs the will of the few, or of the majority.
In a Republic, the government cannot force you to give them anything that the Constitution does not give them the power to take.
In a Democracy, the government can take away anything that the "masses" decide is legitimate to remove.
A Republic finances itself through legitimate taxes and fees that were specifically spelled out in its Constitution.
A Democracy finances itself through illegitimate licenses, fees, fines, and other statutory penalties, as well as repressive progressive income taxes."

we definitely aren't a democracy. my point was that we hardly have a representative government. it's absurd that only 2 candidates are supposed to represent the views of all the citizens.

nader sees this and he runs to protest the stranglehold the DNC and GOP have on this country.
