I've noticed most post on how everyone uses their .45 gauge filters and my question is, do you all use the same filter each time or for every batch of gear you make you use one filter and then dispose of it?

a filter is good for approx. 100ml, and there is no reason not to use it for different batches. the primary sterilization comes from heat, not the filter. i personally use filters soley for the particulates in the solution, not for sterilization.
actually bro, the sterilization does come from the filter-coupled with the ba you put in the solution. cooking in the oven does nothing for sterilizing. only if you have something like an autoclave.

You see, 180 degrees F. is the temp at which things are 'pasturized'. In other words, all the BAD stuff dies, and the GOOD stuff (enzymes, etc.) live.
250 degrees F. is the temp at which 99.9 % of ALL bacteria is KILLED. So, if you heat your gear in an oven at 250, and you leave it in for say.......15 mins or so....you should be pretty straight as far as killing of the BAD stuff goes. Now, don't get me wrong, I am a firm believer in filtering to rid the solution of Bacteria also. I am just trying to set the record straight.
How am I so sure you ask?????/ I used to grow 'shrooms', and when you do it like this, they ALWAYS grow! 250 is the way to go.
