40/40/20 = Too Much Protein?

Based on 3000 cal/per day that would mean 300 grams of protein?! That seems like alot. Is there something I'm not taking into consideration?
 
40/40/20 is the bulking formula I follow for the most part.I may keep the protein slightly higher than the carbs though.

I up the protein and drop the carbs for cutting,but I also drop overall daily caloric totals as well.
 
40/40/20 is a good ratio for adding size. If you are 200 pounds, 300 grams is fine. I weigh 230 and I eat around 320-360 per day.

When I want to lean down I go 50/25/25... or somewhere in that region. I don't believe in completely cutting carbohydrates unless you are preparing for a contest.
