4 years, still getting sick..wether on a cycle or not..help

Currently on an 80mg/day anavar cycle, and this is the second time I get sick. I have been a school teacher for over 4 years, and my immune system does not seem to get any better. I get sick with a cold at least 6 time a year, so far 4 times in 5 months. Doctor says I have low immune system. I have taken everything . AHCC, echinacea, VIT-C, fish oil, all that stuff. I honestly have tried everything in the market. After a while, I noticed with all that shit, I would still catch a cold. Maybe if I would have stayed with all those supplements, I would have gotton sick 4 times in the year instead of 6. I just gave up. But damn, no matter what I do, I'm always sick. any advice?

And with all the supplements I take, won't 10-20 pills a day put stress on the liver, wether i'm on juice or not? (according to the doctor, taking to many pills a day will put stress on the liver..)

there will be one later next month and it will be availble for individual sale.

here is the write up:

Glutamine supplementation has been touted as one of the missing pieces of the hypertrophic/anti-catabolic puzzle for intensely training athletes. Many have felt it to be beneficial in training, particularly when dieting, training very frequently and very intensely.

Up until now, some of the drawbacks to oral glutamine supplementation was the absorbability factors. The L-form just required mass amounts to pass the gut membrane and be taken up to target tissues. As a result, much was wasted. But now, with the advent of peptide bonded forms of glutamine, this problem has been efficiently overridden. The peptide glutamic substrates are taken up much more easily, and as a result, much higher plasma concentrations are achieved, with much less required to achieve this end result.

Now, with this in mind, one may still question, "Why glutamine? What will it do for me, the athlete?"

Glutamine is the most abundant occuring amino acid present in the entire body, comprising about 75% of the muscle cell amino acid pool.

During stress, the body's requirement for glutamine often appears to excedeour ability to produce sufficient amounts to reinstate cell pool homeostasis. Stress causes increased amounts of glutamine to release from muscle, and it becomes difficult to restore, presumably as a result of disturbances of the Na+electrochemical gradient across the cell membrane. Liver and spleen uptake of glutamine is also increased during these stressful times, further displacing the content present in muscle.

Low plasma concentrations of glutamine reflect reduced stores in muscle tissue. Feeding extra amounts of readily available/easily absorbed peptide bonded glutamine during these periods would be a wise idea to counterattack these catabolic mechanisms and sustain the muscle amino pool content.

On a cellular level, let's take a look at why glutamine is such a worthwhile substrate----Some of its proven benefits:

*It attenuates glutathione depletion( Glutathione is the most important endogenous scavenger system/anti-oxidant in the entire body). Glutathione depletion is often pronounced after bouts of stress, including events of high intensity excercise such as we subject ourselves to during heavy training.

*Glutamine has been shown to stimulate/activate protein synthesis and inhibit turnover(degradation). It has been shown to enhance/sustain nitrogen homeostasis under periods of stress.

*Glutamine modulates lymphocyte (immune cell) activation,by proliferating (increasing population)of T-Cell numbers which in turn increases immune system response. Parenteral administration in hospital patients under stress has been found to greatly decrease the instance of bacterial infections. For the rest of us we can achieve those same benifits via supplemenation of Glutamine Peptides

*Stimulates hepatic(liver)glycogen synthesis.

*Glutamine has also been shown to enhance stress-induced heat shock protein(HSP)expression. HSP's provide protection of cellular injury.

*Lastly, glutamine peptides have the antioxidant action similar to 3-5 servings of fruit or vegetables based on ORAC (oxygen radical absorbance capacity) for vitamins C, E, and beta-carotene. Glutamine peptides offer 300 times more ORAC antioxidant equivalents as compared to free glutamine.

SOURCE ORAC INTAKES

Vitamin E (500mg) 116
Vitamin C (500mg) 2830
3-5 servings of fruits and vegetables 1950
B-carotene (250mg) 300
Bound amino acid glutamine (5-7g) 3.5-5.4
Protein hydrolysate (10-15g) 1100-1650

oral administration of glutamine, particularly in peptide-chained form very well may improve nitrogen economy/retention, improve repair/recovery of damaged muscle tissue, and diminish the the incidence of free radicals/bacterial forms present in those who are placing stress on their systems through the routines of high intensity training.

Chiropractic... Your nervous system is most likely not functioning at 100%. I suggest seeing a straight upper-cervical or Gonstead chiropractor.

there is this product at the grocery store now called danactive, its a probiotic nutritional drink. i heard about it from somebody at this site. it has some sort of culture that boosts your immune system, acoording to studies.

i also like chiropractic. i get adjusted weekly and it seems i never get sick anymore. seriously its a big improvement i used to be more like you.

Yes there has always been a misconception that chiropractors crack backs. While some do only do that (the bad ones) there are true chiros out there that treat the nervous system and help with the free flow of mental impulses. Thus your body starts functioning at optimal health which = better immune system function.

I work in a clinic, and I know what you mean.

Best things I can suggest is:

-Wash hands very frequently
-Get adequate sleep every night.
-Get enough protein in ya.
-Do not touch your face ever at work or the gym.
-Wash your hands when leaving work.
-Wash your hands immediately when done working out.
-Stay well hydrated.
-Take a quality multi-vit and mineral supp.
-If sick, stay out of the gym until you are better.

Those are the basics. I have to be really cautious as well, or I end up like you. Also, it never fails but every year between February and May I get sicker than shit no matter what I do.

I also have a problem where if my immune system gets low, then I get a cold sore break out starting from the inside of my nose down into my throat. It is a bitch to get well once this occurs. I always have a script of Valtrex on hand....yes it sux.

NOTE: I do not have GENITAL HERPES BITCHES!...:)

There are a ton of herbs and supplements you can take as well that can speed up the sickness...to some degree. The trick is finding a way to prevent sickness from occuring in the first place....which I guess is easier said than done.:(

I'll have to come back and list some of the supp's and herbs that can be of benefit....well, to some degree I thing.

ugh! kids with their boogers and snots and coughing fits and dirty ass hands and on and on and on ... bacteria party everyday for you.
Wear a gas mask to work.

I was like you too, but during the past few years I started washing my hands with rubbing alcohol and I dont get sick as much. Washing hands is key, and not touching your face. Im kinda like Howie Mandel now.

chiro is a great idea

wouldnt hurt to get adjusted a couple times
I did the Chiro thing a few times, but honestly I didn't feel like it did anything for me. I work with kids, I am the P.E coach, so I deal with everysingle child in the school. So the probability of me getting sick is much higher than others...but yea I definetly need multi-vit and supplements....

get a std test.

lol...I have. I'm clean, no one goes to the doc more than me. AIDS, STD, blood work all the time. Plus I keep my dick in my pants unless it comes out for my fiance. Now if she gave me an STD, how come she doesn't get sick..lol

You could have a naturally weak immune system. I had a client I trained about 4 years ago who got sick at a drop of a hat, she finally broke down and got the testing she needed. Turned out her immune system was shot, naturally (genetics).

your Immune system as Mr.X said may have an issue

some people have chronically low ATP stores as well ,
and creatine of some kind helps IMMENSELY

There was study with Obese people and when they started Creatine usage they became more active since they had more ATP and were able to of course sustain activity and lose weight

what I am saying is that Supps that are Pro-immune system WILL help most likely
I Firmly believe in this

To be quite frank I dont know why you would ask a bunch of juicing lifters this question. If a doctor can not tell you whats wrong I dont know if I would ever trust the advice of a bunch of people that have more than likely searched nothing more than the effects of sterroids on their body and some people giving advice probably have not even done that, they just heard it can make you bigger. You seriously should seek medical advice instead of a sterroid forum. The only thing I can suggest from my own experience is wash your hands a lot, and never touch door handles knobs etc with your bare hands especially at public facilities. avoid eating at buffets where children without watchful parents pick up and touch everything and put it back in the buffet cause they decided against it after picking their noses and wiping their asses and not washing their hands. They are little incubators of germs. These simple suggestions can help the average duck a ton. I have been sick maybe once r twice in the past 6 years avoidng where the public touches things all the time (phones, handles etc.)! If you think a bunch of juicers have better advice for you than a doctor then let me know the next time you need stitches or something. I have always wanted to try that myself and I read an article about it once so I know what I am talking about!! NOT!

I ask these bros because they do the same thing I do. On top of that, my doc doesn't know much about anabolics, and simply tells me there is nothing you can do, its winter season. He would say his wife is a teacher and is sick all the time, and there's pretty much nothing you can do. Vit-C. SO when the doc can't help, I'll find it else where. I will seek advice in terms of immune system test..where can I get that? would that have to be a specialist?

i just read an article that said the reason people get sick in the winter is lack of viatmin D ... i kinda think they may be on to something
