Am i overtraining... Will this hinder my gains?
hey guys... so i have been doing a 3x5 program and am a beginner. I have been lifting for about 6 weeks, and was curious as to weather this sounds like Overtraining. I am going to take today off because yesterday was just grueling, but generally speaking i train for soccer. I am going to try to run a little bit each day (not doing as much now because i am a bit out of shape, but i am going to increase the amount i run every few days). I lift on Tuesday/Thursday/Sat OR Sun, and play soccer for roughly 2 hours on Sunday and Wednesday. Yesterday, i ran in the morning, then lifted a bit later, and finished up with soccer. Today, my legs are sore as hell!! I just want to make sure that i am not overtraining.
Also, since i do train for soccer, is running this much going to make me lift less? I don't mind lifting a bit less because of soccer, but if all of this running won't hinder my gains, then that's awesome! However, if it will, i will just accept the fact that i have to wait until after soccer to start really lifting. I am doing a 3x5 program involving all of the compound lifts (i added calf raises and planks) and was also wondering if i should change this up at all to involve legs more.. Or is doing the running/soccer twice a week enough?
Thanks!
