365 on bench!

My personal best ever! I benched 315 for 5 reps last week, last night I did 10 reps easy so I put on a 25lb plate on each side for 365lbs and almost did it for 2 reps!

I'm sorry if I seem over enthused, but I'm 5'5" and 190lbs and this was way out of my reach a year ago. :)

thanx, but i need to take a new pic, this one is a year old, im like 18 pounds heavier now. i think i weighed in at 190 today.
 
I should add. Im 5'8 and at 191 I hit 315x9.75 (just short of lockout on the 10 rep). I also managed to hit 380 after 2 warm-up sets and 3 sets to failure. Heres what I did that day:

135x20
225x12
275x17
315x7.5
325x5
380x1

Then a few more sets on the way back down. So, as you can see, this day was not set up for a one rep max at all. The main priority was rep PR's. So Im guessing if I set up a day for maxing Id be very close to the 400 mark. I plan to hit it soon enough. I think it may be very likely that with a 315x10 bench your one rep max might be much higher then you expected. My arms also seem quite long for my height, so I think that works against me. TRAIN OR FUCKIN DIE!!

I do a lot of sets on the way down, but not so much on the way up except for the 2nd time I hit chest during the week.

I'm sure you could hit 405 easy without so many reps. I rarely do it that way and only to change it up. I felt like I gained more size when I went heavier, but my bench did go way up when I went for reps, so I guess it sort of a compromise.

I have short ass arms, so though I don't have to push it up very high, I have a hell of a time getting it off the rack sometimes.
 
Very good.

You have to be thick as hell for your size. Im a tad bigger, 5'10.5" at 253lbs. All the light guys are starting to catch me on bench, i better get my ass in gear.
 
thats good man. i just did 370 myself just once though. ive been doing 10 reps of 250lbs all the way to my chest. usually i dont go all the way down and i have way better gains.
