3 months on trt

well it's been 3 months since istarted trt.my first total test level was 308 when i started. the doctor was giving me 100 mg of test cyp per week.

i was very slow to respond to the test. it took 10 weeks before i really felt a difference.i would tell the doctor each week that i wasn't feeling anything and he would just say to be patient. after 8 shots we checked the test levels and i was at 600 total test. after 12 weeks i was at 800 total test. this is where it started to kick in.

being a newbie to all of this i am still kind of worried because i only take test cyp and a monthly shot of b 12. i read alot where you guys take some kind of hcg or other stuff. should i be concerned.
i also paid around 1200 dollars for 26 shots. is any one finding a better deal then that

Were not supposed to discuss prices on the forum, but for 100mg/wk that price seems very high, you should be able to get 400mg/wk for 3 months plus anastrozole and HCG for less than that.

thanks for the reply. if any one wants to let me know of any good deals please list hem here or p.m the info. i still have 3 moths left but i would love to start planning a cheaper route.

It took a long time for me to feel any results from HRT, so glad yours happened so fast to be honest....it took months for me to feel or see a difference!

Well when you checked your T levels did you keep checking estrogen levels too? It could creep up on your ass then you will really need an AI...and HCG is nice to keep your balls normal size and potentially maintain the ability to keep your swimmers in check if you are looking to have kids down the road

That seems really high for your meds. I take the same amount of cyp but I use arimedex to control any rouge estrogen, it's spendy but my insurance pays 80 percent.

i appreciate your reply.

wow 80 per cent that would be great
who is your insurance carrier . i have kaiser permemente but i haven't asked if they provide trt treatment.

You could go to a private HRT clinic that diesn't take insurance, pay out of pocket and do WAY better than that.

Yea I know of clinics that cost a lot, but easily increase the doses compared to what you have...

However if you are just trying to regain your natural optimal levels, Id say hang in there and lower doses arent bad....it too me a long time to really see and feel results, and Im back to "normal" for me and if anything still a little more BF% than I used to be in my prime....so I find it kinda funny that folks talk about HRT, and yearly gain 5-10lbs each successive year more than they have ever been normally, ar more jacked and stronger than they were in their youth or prime....hah...obviously they are doing more a dose than their prime natural levels were hahah....that or they were not training hard, eating right, and getting after it when they should have....but thats besides the point, everyone has their own dealio....but if you want higher doses you can find them if your labs were indeed that low. BUT I caution you dont really need them, and it takes time for things to happen...lot of folks on HRT to me seem to be cycling, and even their cruising is higher than what they normally had in their prime....hell if I didnt need HRT and could have the strength and BF% I had naturally at 30 years old, id do it in a freaking heart beat! No need to pin all the time rest of my life....but if you do really need it, it is a beautfiul thing and Im so thankful for it!

thanks for your response.

it has been 16 weeks so far and every week i feel better and better. i am only given 100 mg of test per week. it was pretty difficult the first 10 weeks. i really didn't feel any different except that i was sleeping like a rock.

at week 12 i really started to see a difference. now at week 16 i feel great. yesterday i benched 275 for 8 reps. something i have never done even when i was younger. all of my lifts are up and my clothes are getting looser. so i hope this means the weight is coming off or i am converting more fat to muscle. my mood is happier where as before i was grumpy and bordering on depressed. my libido is also running high and my wife knows something is different.

i still have 10 weeks to go as i prepaid for 26 weeks.i am still a little worried that i am not taking anything else for possible side effects like hcg or some other type of a.i..

i asked the doctor and he said with such a small dose of test i should be ok. but he will check on the next blood test. it is unfortunate for me that this is the only clinic nearby here in san diego.

i also want to thank the guys who p.m.ed some more info and links. being such a newbie to this. all the extra info is great to have

Yea keep doing bloodwork and you will be able to see if you need an AI. As for HCG are you planning on having kids? Might want to get it if so, or even just for overall benefits it helps with. Folks feel better on it. The good thing is, arimidex and HCG are easy to buy on your own. So even if your doc doesnt bite, you can get it.

I say stick with 100mg if its working for you bro, and you are lifting more than you ever have in your life?!?!?!?!?!!?!?! Yea....you dont need more than...and you keep feeling better, all good signs. No need to push it in my humble opinion.

after a few days of thought i am going to go with your suggestion and stay at 100 mgs a week. it is very tempting to say fuck it and go to 200 mgs a week. but why should i push it so soon. slow and steady wins this race.

Im probably the least experienced guy on here, Im at 1.5 years of HRT, and no prior AAS use....so Im not an expert, all I know is if I could turn back the clock and be natural I would, but my HRT came out of necessity after a long struggle with severe health issues. That being said still Id rather be natural, and if need be do a cycle or two a year for fun if I was that eager to get bigger or stronger. For me the dealio is Ill probably never be as strong as I was natural, so when I read about everyone being stronger than ever, its like why push it? Your life should be addressed concerning the long haul, and if you can get away with less the better...more room in the future to move up steadily if need be...there are other boars where people take HRT very serious (not saying folks here dont), and they are very scientific in their approach and some dudes been on for like a decade....most of them stick at 100-150mg week, and get all up in arms about someone on 200mg week like me....they all do 2-3 injections a week splitting up their 100-150mg dose, plus AI and hcg, and get amazing results.

Yea HRT is for the long haul, if 100mg works keep rocking it I say.

i just finished my 4 months on trt. i have lost 20 lbs but my strength has increased nicely. i am now benching 285 for 10. i started at 245 for 10

squats i am now squatting 315 for 10 and i started squatting 275 for 10. my clothes fit allot better.

i didn't really change my diet. this next 6 months i will start to focus more on my diet and maintaining my strength gains

Dude, thats amazing progress...you need no more than what you are taking now. Especially if thats more than you have lifted before when you were younger or natural. You might even be above your normal natural previous T levels if your making gains that great. Unless you never trained or dieted as hard as you are now?

Yea stick with 100mg no need to mess with your body anymore than needed...and most people would love to make the kind of gains you are even on cycles! Those are major increases in workload my man! Congrats!

That's awesome. I just had labs run last week and am waiting results.

Losing 20lbs in that short of time and jumping up that much in workload is pretty gnarly good.....wish I could drop 20!

i made an error on my above post . it should read 6 months not 4. i started my new 6 month period today. they drew my blood and i should have some numbers next week.

6 weeks ago i wasn't feeling the same so i asked that they check my estrogen. it came back at 78 which they said was high so they gave me a script for anastrozole. it took about a week before i started to feel better.

thanks every one for the encouragement. i have trained for most of my life but i never lifted this much.

i was an accident 2 and half years ago and i was pretty much in bed in traction for a long period of time and after many surgeries i am finally healthy enough to put in the work at the gym. i did gain alot of weight but i am on my way to losing it. i am now 45 years old and it is very hard to get the weight off which is how i came to try trt therapy.it looks like it is working and i am on my way. i am very happy with the 100 mg a week i am throwing 275 around like it is 225.

Losing weight is my primary interest, but I won't turn my nose up at any of the other benefits.

so i got the results from my last blood test. my estrogen went from 76 which is high back down to 26. my total test was at 506 down from a high of 806.

my last blood test was 6 weeks ago and this is when we caught the high estrogen level. i knew something was wrong because i started to feel tired and lackadaisical and i asked for them to check the estrogen. now it took to weeks of treatment before i started to feel good again.

i benched 295 for 10 today another personal best and i had 2 really good workouts in a row. i am really impressed with this stuff. i can see how people started doing testosterone when they were younger to get big and strong. lost another 2 pounds and i am starting to watch my diet.i am hoping to lose 30 pounds by the end of the year mostly going to a high protien low carb diet.i am feeling really good about where i am going my chest, shoulders, quads and arms are noticeble bigger and my clothes that were tight on my are now baggy. i just need to start working on my midsection and focusing more on my diet.

i hope every one else here is also having good results too.

well 4 weeks ago i started to feel different. no more morning wood not many spontaneous erections and a bit tired. so i asked my doctor for a complete blood test. the blood test came back and my test level was 1008 and my estrogen was at 78. which was very high according to him.

so he recommended that i take 6 to 8 weeks off to get my levels down and to get my recepters in my body a break.so it has been 3 weeks and i am feeling pretty good. i am still lifting the same amount of weight and most importantly my erections are staring to come back. he also recommended taking a daily dose of grape extract which he said is a natural way to fight high estrogen.

i started my hrt in january so i was on for 10 months so i figured a break was a good idea. any thoughts from you guys are greatly appreciated.i know this course of action is probably pretty conservative but i figure i am just a newbie and i have a lot of time in front of me to figure things out. thanks in advance for your replies

Wierd I posted a response.....something to the effect once you are on TRT as far as I know, you dont come off...my estrogen went high for a while when my doc was trying to use supplements to control it, soon as I went back on an AI things were in check and I feel great as usual....

getting on and off I thought could be crappy with hormone swings like that...once you find a sweet spot I thought you ride it for life man....unless you can do a restart

Been on HRT 1.5 year, no break... levels around 1400 total, will stay on constantly and take AI for estro levels and hcg for the boys... doc will run mine to 2000 if i want but like the level and have supplemental test for cycling... personally think keeping a constant level is best but every doc has his own opinion? looks like they would give you a script and let you self inject, much cheaper.. but there again, i am on the implant routine for now and i like it... congrats on your recover!
