I am looking for any suggestions on a diet i have currently been eating 4 egg whites and one slice of whole grain toast dry. meal 2) 50 grams of whey protein and water. meal 3) 1 to 2 cans of tuna and salad with balsamic vinager. meal 4) 6 oz low carb yogurt and 50 grms of whey. meal 5) 8 oz of beef chix or fish and veggies and one piece of fruit with aminos before bed.. if anyone can help me out i am trying to drop at least 40 to 45lbs by summer
 
Are you really keeping to that diet? And for how Long? You need more calories. Dont make a diet that you wont be able to stick to for an extended period of time. 240 30% you need to start exercising and lifting to turn that fat into muscle. 1.5-2g of protien per pound of body fat. Hope it helps.

any suggestions or calorie amounts i should be getting per day??
 
Thats a good question. I am also a fat ass at 5 8' 200 lbs and 20% But I eat real shitty. I think its all about what you eat more then how much. I would say around 2300-3000. Tommarow I will start my diet too. All wheat, non processed, red meat. My buddy did it and he wieghed about 280 at 6'2 and is already at 250 within 2 months or just working out and eating right. Its all about YOUR body. Luckily I am one that can eat pretty shitty and keep reasonable ( By a average joe, not the BBs on here :) ) Just EXERCISE intesnse, eat 6 meals a day of clean healthy food. And you should be fine by summer. Good luck. I know ill need it!

at 240 lbs. you should be taking in around 2800-2900 calories/day. Your diet seems to contain around 1200 calories.

Your diet is hardly optimal. You are depriving yourself of calories. Keep it at around 10-12x bodyweight in calories, minimal. If you exercise often, then raising your calorie intake is ideal. Try no to lose more that 2lbs weekly.
 
I hope it doesn't seem like I'm hijacking this thread, but I always hear to eat 1.5 - 2 grams of protien per pound of body weight. Is that LBM or total body weight w/fat included?

Total Body weight.
 
5 years ago i was doing this program that told me to do 1g of carbs per lbs, 2g of protein per lbs and 15 cals per lbs. It really does work but doing all the math and coming up short or over at the end of the day makes it really hard to stick to.

yeh u reaaaallly need more calories along with a good lifting and a great cardio routine....i really think a good cardio routine and a good diet you will look great before summer time...i had to really concentrate on cardio to get my bodyfat down, i was at 6'1 295 at 20% bodyfat but strong as hell than down to 260 at 18% and now at 6'1 275 at 15% and all of that loss was just ruuunnning and sweating and trying to eat right (its tooought to eat right when the only thing you hav is a college cafeteria!)

keep on working dude, ull be a stud by summer time!

you are hijacking the thread, next time post in your own thread...

For most bodybuilders, 1.5-2 grams pr/lb. is standard. However, for most dieters you can get away with 1 gr pr/lb. easily, especially with the right fat intake.
