24 y/o AAS newcomer questions

Hi Friends,

I am 24 and have been working out consistently for 3 years. I have watched my diet for the last 2 years. Typical diet is 3000-3500 cals, 40/40/20 p/c/f. Creatine, pwo, multi, and protein powder only for supps. My stats:

5'10" ~190 lbs
Bench 265x3
Dead 405x3
Squat 295x1 (I know.... working on it)

Workout 5-6 times a week for 60-120 minutes
WO1 Chest/Tris
WO2 Back/Bis
WO3 Shoulders/Traps
WO4 Legs

This is only the last 3 weeks or so, 5x5 before that, push/legs/pull before that, another 5x5 before that...

I have a fairly lean ecto/meso body type, but have gained weight at a reasonable pace until the last 3-4 months, where my BW and lifts have pretty much stalled (I started at <150lbs, benching 75lbs...). Have changed routine to some benefit (recently switched to higher volume with thus far positive effects), but am wondering what you might advise for a next step.

Questions:
Given this information, would it be unreasonable to add aas/prohormones at my level of development?

Are prohormones worth pursuing, or would it be better to get ahold of the "real stuff"?

I have read most of the stickies about first cycle recommendations, but is oral-only a viable alternative to injectables? I have no aversion to injections, just thinking about having the vials/ampules around being more obvious (girlfriend might not "get it")

Any other advice/comments/criticism?

P.S. - Thanks to everyone for making this board such a wealth of information. I've lurked on this forum and others like it for years, learning everything I could. I also enjoy reading BB books, so if you have any literature recommendations I'd love to hear those as well.

Welcome to Elite Fitness, MidasMulligan. It seems you are making consistent gains from your diet and you are taking the correct approach of changing up your routines every so often to, which if more people did, they would see more results. Now, if and only if you feel you have reached your genetic potential with hard work in the gym, diet and proper training then try the following.

Up your Protein to 220 grams per day along with your caloric intake , in which you stated was between 5000 and 6000 per day. Great

If you want to run an oral only cycle then I would run anavar at 50 mgs per day and adjust it accordingly . I would run the anavar 8 weeks.

If you want to run a cycle , then I would suggest the following:

Week 1 - 12
Test E or Cyp 350 per week
Week 1-4 dbol 50 mgs per day
HCG at 350 per week the entire 12 weeks.

Also , read up on PCT , if you do a cycle.
 
Bro..first off congrats on making such amazing gains naturally. I do not think being stuck for a few months is a reason to go into AAS. I mean maybe but are you just getting frustarted and jumping the gun? do you need to look at changing training and diet to see if you are just in a plateau?

What is your long term goal?

Yes prohormones are a very viable alternative and I can attest you can do oral only cycles, make great gains, retain them, and be healthy..

Keep in mind some prohormones today can be just as supressive mg/mg if not more then popular orals such as drol or dbol..... also you will need to change your diet when you are on cycle, so prepare a alternative diet for that aswell.

Definitely not jumping into anything right away; mostly just looking to see what those who have been there had to say about it. I wouldn't say that I have reached my maximum level possible naturally; I guess it's just harder to stay enthusiastic when the gains are slower, fewer and farther apart.

My long term goal is to weigh between 210-215, with 2-3% lower bodyfat than I have now (BF is lower priority by far). Shorter term I'll be focusing on gaining lean body mass... bulking while keeping the inevitable fat gains to a minimum.

Can anyone point me in the direction of recommended prohormones? Info on pros/cons of them and any recommended orals would be appreciated. It's worth mentioning that before starting any kind of cycle I'm going to have my diet and PCT planned out; just sort of in the "window shopping" phase right now.

Injectables are safer than any oral out there - even though their administration is not preferred (injection route is a turn off for most people).

I'd hit the test E @ 500mg/week for 10-12 weeks, run aromasin or erase during cycle and do a standard PCT protocol.

If your body fat is high then you're not going to get the results you want and you have a higher affinity for side affects.
