225 for reps...

I decided to rep out on 225 today after a light chest warm up just for the hell of it. Put it up 30x.

As you were. Piss off.
 
Nice job, I tried that shit a while back thinking I could hit 30 w/o a problem because I could single 385....shit was hard, I only got 24, my muscular endurance sucks.
 
yeah bro, 30 on flat bench. Actually, last time I repped out w/ 225 was back around february and I put it up i believe 21 or 22. So, I've got my bench up to 355 one rep max raw and am quite pleased with significant increase in stamina too.

Ive never done this, I dunno warmin up I throw it up for a quick ten and was finishing with a 405 for 3-4reps, I have no clue what my tamina sets would be like
 
I thought you warm up with 30 reps. Anyway, that's what i do and a set of 8 with 345. I think my max is around 405 right now.
either way it pisses the newbies off when the see you warm up with their max ;)
 
no, i don't warm up w/ 30 reps normally! I warmed up on chest today and repped out w/225 just to see how many times I could do it.

try it out some time. it tore me up and gave me a deep burn. typically i lift from 3-8 reps

Wrong. I did 27 reps and benched 425, actually that's about on target. 30 reps usually = double the weight for a max.
 
A guy i know can do 22 reps with 315, but only squats 385 for 1. SOme people really have that endurance strength
 
sounds like he just doesn't work legs at all

bench > squat = no leg training = upperbody super hero

don't get me wrong, 315 for 22 is still huge
 
we have to do this for wrestling practise we put our body weight on the bar wich is about 220 right now and we do 5 sets for as many reps you could do. I got 45 reps for the first set and it started to go down, the last set I got 24. We do this once a week till the season is over.........TAPOUTM p.s. I know what you mean about that burn it lasts for about 2-3 days.

Thats funny, my max bench is around 360 (165 KGs) but I can't go past 11-12 with 225. I guess my endurance sucks. Looks like all those miles I swam this summer contributed zero towards my chest and arm endurance. My max for five is 275 if that means anything.
 
Whats really stupid is the NFL tests athletes for their max rep with 225. Its a pretty useless indicator of football strength. Id rather see them rep squats with 315, or maybe bodyweight + 100.

Running backs my ass. That is NFL lineman reps. The strongest ones too.

Nah....my one rep max is 545.....and I hit 225 for 44.....but there is a guy who plays for the Rams....Torry Holt.....who I watched hit it 46...and the his a 315'er.......so who really knows.....:confused:

I didn't see this one until now.....but that's not right...I watch linebackers, db's and rb's rep out way more than fatty lineman.....for example.....Adam Timmerman for the rams....big ass dude.....560 or 580 bench don't remember...but his rep max at 225 is like 18.....

yeah I wouldn't believe it either....but I was there.....weird:confused: ....anywho.....I think if he really pressed himself and trained...he could easily hit 405.....and remember this dude only weighs like 195-205

Yours is about on target. I don't believe a guy can do 225x46 and only bench press 315? That sounds impossible. Unless he has some sort of injury that prevents him from lifting heavy.
