2 vodka on the rocks a week.....

I'm already ripped. I would like to know if 2 vodka on the rocks a week would have an ill effect on my physique.

I do regular medium to high intensity cardio. I cycle low and high calories days thru the week. I train heavy all the time.

Opinions?
 
stay away from booz, it lowers natural testosterone by 25 percent and a little bit is extemely high in carbs and is very caloric dence, as much as 1 shot of 80 proof is considered very high in carbs and caloric dence. pick - get drunk or be shredded.
 
not true...hard liquor has zero carbs.....at least regular vodka does, gin, stay away from rum it has some hidden sugar....it won't hurt you..i'm ripped too and kinda follow the same routine as you it sounds like, and i can go out 4-5 nights a week and drink if i want....and i don't have a fast metabolism....just stay away from mixed drinks and beer would be my suggestion.
 
it's different for different people...

my metabolism/genetics piss me off... I look at beer and my gut starts inflating (more than it already is!)

my best friend has like no fat on him... never has, never will... he's always been natural... creatine is the only sup he's ever taken... anyhow, this fucker can drink like it's going out of style and still make gains and maintain... would he do better without the booze? certainly

will those two vodkas a week (if it's REALLY only two vodkas a week) hurt you? especially if you've got good genetics? probably no more than whatever stress you're relieving would...

Two glasses of just about anything is not going to make or break an established physique, especially straight alcohol. Enjoy yourself.
 
the more balanced lives we lead, the longer we lead them! Have a drink every now and then, eat some bad food every now and then, just stay focused.
 
just stick to the good vodkas...grey goose and vox...kettle they are distilled, and smoother...they'll run through ya faster haha. I been under 6% BF and i am in college drinking 3-4 days a week a few beers and soemtimes a few 6 packs.....just keep on the cardio that weeks you know your partying. As for the supressed T, just throwdown soem trib that week haha. Seemed to do the trick for me

Just stick to the hard liquors, and stay away from the beer....
 
Ifyou ask me, just train hard and you can drink. Most of the time pople get fat because of what they eat after they get drunk. I know once i get drunk then al my diet shit things that i do during the week go out the window. but hey you only live once ya know. It is very possible to drink and still be shredded. I drink twice week and am not fat.
 
Here's my take on drinking vs. not drinking as a bodybuilder... I've come up with this theory after a whole summer of drinking trying to pick up chicks and now I look like shit:

A) If you drink when you go out to clubs/bars, sure you'll be a little more outgoing and friendly, yes you'll be more assertive, and you'll likely approach and talk to many more girls than you would vs. if you were sober. Right? right. So you SHOULD drink right? NO. reason? b/c after prolonged drinking, you'll start to look like shit and no matter how good your "drunk game" becomes, if you look like shit you're not gonna pick up even a dirty looking chick.

Alternative:

B) Don't drink. Ever. Sure at the beginning you'll feel really weird at clubs... you'll be kinda shy and feel out of place sipping on diet coke while others shoot back shots, you won't approach girls or make flirtatious comments. However, with time, if you follow a badass workout & diet regime, you'll start to look like a total BADASS. At that point, you won't need to do or say anything... you'll just be able to walk in (dressed GQ of course), and the chicks will flock to you.

This is what I've learned this summer. Look around next time you go to clubs. The most GQ and well built/good looking guys are NOT drinking, yet they have the hottest chick in the place. So, if you're out of shape like I am right now, it's all about DELAYED-GRATIFICATION. I officially QUIT drinking, and I'm not going out AT ALL (to clubs I mean) for 6-8 months (or however long it takes), until I look BADASS... lean, cut, and super GQ... then, it'll all be worth it. later
 
No way. you will not see any lasting negative results from 2 shots of Vodka a week. Are you really that dedicated? Bravo if you are..
 
I see what you are saying bro... Im in college and I looooooove to drink. However, if i just cut drinking out all together I see much faster and better results. It easier to just say fuck it. PUSSY COMES BEFORE BOOZE!!
 
I agree, i love to drink, but if i´m in a party and i start to drink it's difficult for me to stop... and at the end i'll eat a lot when i get home, at night. next day i'll be craving for coke and fatty shits...

one day a week i usualy drink a bottle of wine and eat lots of carbs... the next day it's difficult to retake the routine... i gain wheight that i have to work next week to loose

I think that if you have a "all or nothing" whay of thinking its mor dificult to manage this kind of situations. If you can let yorself go one day, and the next one keep focused... you are more free
 
one thing about alcohol... you cannot burn fat while alcohol is in your system. alcohol is converted into acetate and it become the source of energy leaving glucose and fat on the back burner most of the time they just get stored while your body lives off the acetate.
