I've been smoking since I was 15 and now I'm 29. I quit friday cold turkey, haven't cheated and you know what? I haven't even been craving a cigarette so far today!

Just thought I'd brag about since I feel pretty good about now being one of those dreaded non-smokers. (Saturday was tough pretty though)

:D

kewl

I'm 36 and I've been smoking since I was 18 so I understand what your going through I just quit myself yesterday. So far it's been about 38 hrs since my last smoke and I'm dying here. All I can think about is a butt and it's driving me insane, but I'm determined to quit. Good luck to ya bud. Hope it works out for ya.

What doesn't kill you, makes you stronger!!!

Yeah, today isn't so bad. I've always heard that it's the first 48 hours that are the worst since your nicotine levels drop right away.

You know one benefit of quitting? It makes me hungry as hell so it's a good way to begin a mass program. So, that's what I've done.

Lift heavy, eat heavy, sleep heavy and grow!!

Best decision you'll ever make!

Congrats!

Also, if you do start wanting one:

-Nicorette gum works
-Peppered Beef Jerky with give your mouth a little sting.
-Cinnamon gum will too.
-Alcohol definitely makes it worse. whew!
-Food tastes so much better!

That's my experience.....We're proud of you man......

Nope. No patch for me. I tried quitting a while back (maybe 6 years ago) by using the patch. Now this is a true story.....

So I'm in the gym at about 5 am working out doing my leg day. I decided to do some warm up leg extensions first. First set goes by, something like 25 reps. Second set goes by, 25 reps. Whoa...starting to get a little dizzy....third set goes by, I get to maybe 15 reps and BAM! Off I go, falling to the ground. My heart was skipping, I was cold & sweaty, short & quick breaths.... What the fuck is going on I thought?

People were running over to me and some chick was checking my pulse, when all of a sudden someone rips something off of my side. It was the fucking goddamned nicotine patch!

Anyways......I'm quitting cold turkey and I think this time it's going to last.

Hey, Shags.....I'm married so that's the only lady I'll ever get. And that's fine by me. :)

Thanks everybody for the support.:bawling:

i think the patch doesnt help that much.....

but way to go....its not a very nice habit, especially if u get to hold a lung of a smoker in your hand, its disgusting. good luck :D

Zyban was the only thing that helped me quit. The most important thing is that you have to really want to quit, not just because you know you should.

Hang in there Fabrizio....I'm trying to kick "pot," although I only do it 3 or 4 times at night, weekley...

Personally I'd never give up weed. I'm only a recreational smoker. Weekends, maybe during the week every now and then. It's great on the weekends you know...I have a 5 day workout schedule so on the weekends on my off days I get to EAT, EAT, EAT...

Yeah, baby....

Congrats bro and hang tough, best thing you will ever do for yourself.

Think about the rewards you will have for giving up smoking... like
Much longer life-expectancy, greatly increased lung capacity, excellent fitness just to name a few.

Stick to it, best personal decision of your life!

Congratulations!

I have been working on quitting too. Tried the other day until I drove the QEW(One of those crappy traffic infested highways in toronto) and then well... ever see that movie Falling Down with Michael Douglas?

Haven't quit yet but cut the consumption in half.

QEW Sucks... get a row boat and go by water... cut your commute in half... and if you fall in you'll have a cool radioactive glow!

LOL,

I know I deal with all those dumbass highways in the Toronto/GTa Area about 3-5 times a week, not just rush hour but like alot all day seeing clients.

The Gardiner is by a long shot the worst highway around. Your going to see me on City Tv one day for sure taking out my frustrations on some poor schmuck who slams on his brakes for no reason.

Lucky for me I live 5 minutes away from work.:)

I couldn't cope with bullshit commute time. That would certainly make me light one up.

I think this time it's going to be for good. I don't have any cravings at all. It's weird. Anyways, so many people know that I quit that now I can't start again anyways. I'm a real proud type of person and to admit defeat really pisses me off.

I FEEL GREAT!
