2 customs letters for one package?

Ok I got a package seized from europe about 5 weeks ago. I got a rather lengthy letter from customs at jfk and didn't respond to it. I just got a one page notice again saying final administrative action. DO you usually get 2 notices or what. I'm not gonna respond but its stating I should post a bond in the amount of 2500 or 10% of the claimed property. Nothing happens if I don't reply to this. I'm assuming they just send this if I wanted to try and claim the gear right? Just want to make sure this is what I do

Yes, it's common to get 2 letters...a thick document with all the "options"...and a final 1 page letter to reming you to go pick up your goods so they can arrest you.

Ignore it.

Yeah I always get 2 letters. I just throw them away and think about how pissed i am that they have my shit.
