It seems that when I draw with my 18g some rubber from the stoper gets suck in the hole of the needle. Now I have a little chunk of rubber floading around in my syringe. What should I do???

Thanks

Yeah, I have seen that too, but only when I am making homebrew and use 18g for the oil transfers. I always use a 20g to aspirate my juice, and I have never seen that with a 20g. I would think you may be okay though, because I assume you are going to use a smaller needle to inject, right? If so, that little piece of rubber won't be able to fit through. Personally though, I wouldn't even risk it. I would shoot the juice back into the vial, toss the syringe and start over.

I have that with a 20g now. I don't think it will fit thru the 23g so I'm not overly concerned though. Those big gauges really tear up the stoppers.

yeah I use a 23g. theres a couple things im think about to get around that little piece of rubber :(. if anyone has more suggestions let me know.

I get this sometimes - what I do is shoot the juice back into the bottle, then if any rubber is floating around in teh bottle, I get out a whatman filter and take all the juice from the container and filter it into a new sterile bottle. CAn't be too careful, and I would HATE to get rubber in me...

I use an 18g to draw. The rubber has never caused me any problems. If you are worried, do this: draw some air into the syringe before you insert it into the vial. Then shoot the air into the vial and you will pop any piece of rubber out of the needle. Then draw as normal. Who cares if the bit of rubber sits in the juice. It wont matter. And you are not likely to draw it up later either.

good idea. Im not worried about the rubber being in the gear its just that I dont want any rubber going into my muscle because that seems like it could cause some problems.

Y do bros risk it at all? I've been using a 22g to draw (23 to shoot) and it is no prob that way.:)
