16g needle in the arm!

Anyone watch the Lakers/Kings game tonight? They talked about Kobe needing to get an IV earlier because of food poisoning. They said they used a 16g needle in his arm so that it would get into his system faster. That must have hurt like a mother. Also, during the game they kept having to re-tape his arm because the hole from the IV was so big that it kept opening and bleeding during that game.

I thought 16g was standard for intravenous... any time I've had an IV, they actually give a local to the spot before sticking that freakin rod in your arm.

16 isnt that bad..thats what they use when you donate blood, and it goes into a vein, not deep into the muscle so it doesnt hurt as much..still though, thats pretty funny about him bleeding, haha lol..I'm sick.
