Sure it can work. My little sister's best friend is like that. Her dad met her mom when he was 42 and she was 21. 21yr age difference, they had a great marriage with 3 good kids. Problem is, he's 67 and dying of liver cancer and his 3rd kid isn't even in high school yet. 45year old mom has to face that all alone.
