"disturbing sequences of violence and terror. frightening images and language"...it was anything but. I was so bored I made a long trip to the bathroom. John Cusack should stick to romance comedy.

No way..awesome? Are we talking about the same move? You were convinced with Cusack's tears? I thought his character was rather wimpy. I must have missed the suspense when I went to the bathroom..darn-it!!!

Awesome? well, ok.. it wasn't one of the greatest of all time, but I thought it was very well made. Yeah, I think Cusack is a good actor & is good in this film. I haven't seen a suspense/scary movie I liked this well since The Descent. You gotta admit most just suck. I have not talked to anyone who saw this who did not like it. Even the critics liked it (for what that's worth), 2 thumbs up, etc. I liked it better than Spidy 3, Pirates 3, & many other big budget movies that many more people go to see. It would probably be in my top 5 of this year behind 300, Pans Labrynth, ...

The Descent and Pans Labyrinth were excellent films. I bet this doesn't make it in the top ten. The year is still young. I'm thinking Shrek III would be a good next flick what do you think?

Shrek 3... it was ok, but kinda boring in the middle. 1408 was much better at keeping my interest

1408 was an outstanding movie. You dont get a suspense/thriller as good and creative as this nowadays. Most things are ripoffs of older movies, but this one to my recollection is new and all in all a good movie

I'm stupefied! I don't get what you all saw that I didn't. The concept was somewhat new <last year there was that motel room one, on a larger scale there was Haunted Hill>. I didn't feel it answered the question what/who was the evil in the room that caused people to kill themselves.

Stupify...lol. good word. Well, it never really addressed the issue of where the evil came from. The room was just evil in itself. Were you looking for that cliche'd part about some gruesome killing that took place way in the past, whose angry ghost was haunting the room ?... played.

ummmmm yep Even if the evil was Thomas Hewitt (TCM), now that would have had me on the edge of my seat... shivers
