$1300 in night deposits are missing......serious problem

I deposited over $2000 worth of checks in the night deposit a few weeks ago.

$750 worth of checks were returned to me beause a programmer changed my account......an annual occurence.

I got that straightened out but just learned that over $1300 worth of checks are not accounted for....seem to have disappeared.



Anybody been through this or know what to do.??

I used to work at a bank. Stuff like that happens more often than you would like to think. Usually they would turn up eventually though. Not sure about the procedure nowdays, but if it was an established customer, we used to temp credit their account until the matter was resolved.

I have two small businesses. Once a year a programmer decides that my account should no loger accept checks made out to one of them. A terrific hassle.

Nothing can screw things up like a programmer.

Do you have copies of the checks, or a log or something? Record of the deposit?

I recorded the deposit in my check book...that is about all. I can remember who most of the checks were from...that may come into play as they the checks will eventually show where they were cashed.

Yes.....I'm nervous and pissed. My bank makes plenty of mistakes because my accounts are somewhat complicated.

Fortunately I know a manager and that should help. She has been nice to me.
